The Packers released Moore from injured reserve with a settlement Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Moore was placed on injured reserve after suffering a knee injury during the team's first preseason game but is now free to sign elsewhere once he's healthy. The 27-year-old appeared in 13 games for San Francisco during the 2022 campaign, logging eight tackles (seven solo) while playing primarily on special teams.

Moore (undisclosed) was seen practicing during Packers camp Thursday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. Moore was placed on the active/NFI list on July 25 but has since had time to move past the issue. The 26-year-old spent his entire four-year career with San Francisco before signing with Green Bay this offseason, appearing in 61 games over that span. With the departure of Adrian Amos, expect the Southern Mississippi product to compete for a depth role in Green Bay's safety room ahead of the coming season.

Moore (hamstring) did not appear on the 49ers' final injury report and will play Sunday versus the Falcons, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Moore will be back on the field in Week 6 after missing two games with a strained hamstring. The safety has made two tackles while operating almost exclusively as a special-teams option over three games this year.

Moore announced Thursday that he underwent surgery to repair a torn Achilles, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. It was a tough break for the Southern Mississippi product, as he suffered the injury in Monday's practice. Moore is likely to miss the entire 2021 season due to the injury, but a timetable for his return has yet to be established.

Moore finished with 52 tackles (37 solo) and a forced fumble across 16 games with the 49ers in 2020. Moore began the campaign on special teams -- as he had for each of his first three seasons with San Francisco -- but he took over for an injured Jaquiski Tartt around the midway point of the season. The 23-year-old lacks the coverage skills that the veteran ahead of him on the depth chart possesses, but he does bring top-end speed and a physical brand of play at the strong safety position. Moore will be entering the final year of his rookie deal in 2021, while Tartt will be an unrestricted free agent if the cap-starved 49ers can't re-sign him this offseason, so the former has a decent shot at beginning next season as the starter and providing solid tackle totals from the safety position.
