The Falcons released Thomas on Sunday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Thomas hasn't seen NFL action since 2020 with the Cardinals and Patriots, and after spending all of 2023 on the Panthers' practice squad, he signed with the Falcons on Aug. 1. He caught his lone pass for six yards in Atlanta's preseason opener against Miami on Aug. 9, but didn't do much else beyond that. The 2018 sixth-round pick will now look to catch on with another team.

Atlanta signed Thomas to a contract Thursday, Terrin Waack of the Falcons' official site reports. Thomas spent the 2023 season on the Browns' practice squad after failing to make the 53-man roster at the end of training camp, and he spent this past spring playing with the UFL's Birmingham Stallions. The 2018 sixth-round pick last played in the NFL in 2020 with the Cardinals and Patriots, when he appeared in six regular-season games between the two teams.

Thomas signed with Carolina's practice squad Thursday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports. Thomas was released as part of the Panthers' roster cut down but will stick around on their practice squad despite having dealt with an undisclosed injury. The 2018 sixth-round pick is attempting to switch to linebacker after having played tight end throughout the initial portion of his career.

The Lions signed Thomas to a reserve/future contract Tuesday. Thomas was waived off IR by the Colts with an injury settlement and didn't appear in a game during the 2021 campaign. He's appeared in just 11 contests for three different teams (Houston, Arizona, New England) since recording 20 receptions for 215 yards and four touchdowns across 16 appearances during his rookie season in 2018.

Thomas (undisclosed) has been waived off IR by the Colts with an injury settlement, independent NFL journalist Aaron Wilson reports. The 2018 sixth-rounder saw action in six games last season between the Cardinals and Patriots, catching one of his two targets for a three-yard TD. Now that he's been waived off IR, Thomas is free to catch on with another team as a depth tight end option.
