Washington waived Smith (undisclosed) from injured reserve Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. After missing the first six games of the season, Smith is now healthy but will become a free agent. The tight end's last regular-season action came back in 2021, when he suited up in nine games for the Giants.

Smith (undisclosed) was placed on IR on Tuesday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports. Smith joined the Commanders on Aug. 13 and it's not quite clear when he suffered the injury. However, the Stanford product may now miss the entirety of the 2023 campaign unless he reaches an injury settlement with the team.

Smith (knee) agreed to a contract with the Colts on Wednesday, Nate Atkins of The Indianapolis Star reports. Smith was out of football for the 2022 season after the Giants waived him last March with a failed physical designation. Now presumably fully healed from the knee injury he suffered in 2021, the 26-year-old will work to secure a spot on the Colts' Week 1 roster as a depth tight end.
