Odighizuwa (undisclosed) was a participant in Thursday's training camp session, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. The defensive end reclaimed his snaps with the first-team defense and looks to be over whatever was previously ailing him.

Odighizuwa (undisclosed) did not participate at the 49ers' training camp practice Wednesday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. Odighizuwa underwent a clean-up procedure to address a lingering elbow injury during the offseason, but it's not clear whether that's related to his current status. Until he's able to practice again, rookie undrafted free agent Bryson Eason could see some practice reps with the first-team defensive line.

The 49ers acquired Odighizuwa (elbow) from the Cowboys in exchange for a 2026 third-round pick Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. According to Todd Archer of ESPN.com, Odighizuwa had offseason surgery on his elbow, termed a clean-up procedure, that is not expected to affect his availability for the offseason program. A third-round pick in the 2021 Draft, Odighizuwa signed a new four-year, $80 million deal with Dallas last offseason. He appeared in all 17 regular-season games, making 13 starts, and has missed just one contest throughout his five-year career. During the 2025 campaign, Odighizuwa posted 44 tackles (16 solo), including 3.5 sacks, and he gives the Niners a needed boost to their defensive line.

Odighizuwa tallied 44 tackles, including 3.5 sacks, over 17 contests during the 2025 regular season. Odighizuwa continues to be a durable force for Dallas -- he's played in all 17 regular-season contests every year since 2022. The veteran defensive tackle has also been very consistent stats-wise, producing between 43 and 47 stops, including between 3.0 and 4.5 sacks, every season during that four-year span. Odighizuwa signed a four-year contract last March and should continue to be a key part of Dallas' defensive line next season.

Odighizuwa recorded four tackles in Thursday's 31-28 win over the Chiefs. The defensive tackle also played on 59 percent of the defensive snaps. Odighizuwa has played on more than half of the defensive snaps in every game this season, recording 34 total tackles (13 solo), including 3.0 sacks.
