  • Bengals' Amarius Mims: Inactive again
    By RotoWire

Mims (pectoral) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. The 18th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft will miss his second straight game to start his career. Mims has been dealing with the pectoral injury since August. Trent Brown should start at right tackle for the Bengals.

  • Mims (pectoral) returned to practice Monday, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Mims strained his pectoral muscle in the Bengals' preseason game against the Buccaneers on Aug. 10, and he was expected to miss multiple weeks. His return to the field to start Week 1 prep puts him on the proper trajectory to suit up Sunday against the Patriots. However, his status for the matchup likely won't be more definitive until the team releases its initial injury report later in the week.

  • Mims is expected to be sidelined several weeks due to a strained pectoral muscle, Ben Baby of ESPN reports. Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said that Mims' injury won't require surgery, but the rookie lineman is expected to miss Cincinnati's final two preseason contests and is a question mark for Week 1 of the regular season. Mims was selected with the 18th overall pick in April's NFL Draft and had been working with the first-team offense during training camp. He presumably suffered the pec injury during the Bengals' preseason opener Saturday versus Tampa Bay, during which he logged 15 offensive snaps.

  • Bengals' Amarius Mims: Headed to Cincinnati
    By RotoWire

The Bengals selected Mims in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 18th overall. Mims (6-foot-8, 340 pounds) is almost entirely raw material after starting just eight games in his Georgia career, but it's the kind of raw materials that can yield uniquely high upside. Although he's enormous like few linemen in NFL history, Mims moves like someone smaller than himself, boasting an 111-inch broad jump that grades close to elite by offensive tackle standards. While it's true that Mims might need some development time the Bengals are prepared to grant him that for 2024 at least, as one-year free agent pickup Trent Brown should probably be considered the favorite to start at right tackle for the Bengals in Week 1.
