• Cardinals' Jeremiyah Love: Dealing with 'new' ankle injury

  Head coach Mike LaFleur said Monday that Love suffered a "new" ankle injury during Sunday's overtime win at Dallas, and that he'll have an update on the running back later this week, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. Prior to having his right ankle rolled up on while getting tackled Sunday, Love was dealing with a left ankle issue, so this is a bit of a non-update from LaFleur. Having said that, LaFleur's last comment indicates that he may touch on the nature of Love's injury and also its prognosis in the near future. Fellow RB Bam Knight has entered the concussion protocol in the wake of Week 8 action, leaving Tyler Allgeier as the unquestioned healthy lead back for the Cardinals at the moment.

  Love (ankle) is questionable to return to Sunday's game at Dallas, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports. Love missed the previous two contests due to a left ankle injury, but after having his right ankle rolled up on in the second quarter Sunday, he visited the medical tent and then the locker room before the Cardinals clarified the nature of his injury. For as long as Love is off the field, Tyler Allgeier and Bam Knight will man Arizona's backfield.

  Love headed into the locker room during the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Cowboys to be further evaluated for an apparent lower-body injury, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. Love had been sidelined for the Cardinals' previous two games due to a left ankle injury, but he appeared to check out of Sunday's contest after taking a hit to his right ankle/leg in the final minute of the first quarter. The Cardinals will examine him more thoroughly in the locker room before providing an update on the nature of his injury as well as his status for the remainder of the contest. Love carried nine times for 23 yards prior to departing.

  Love (undisclosed) went to the sideline during Sunday's contest in Dallas, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports. Love appeared to get his right ankle rolled up on in the second quarter and remained on the turf for a spell before jogging to the sideline and going into the medical tent. He's been dealing with a left ankle injury that sidelined him the last two games, so this appears to be a new health concern.

  The matchup is great for Love, who is coming back in Week 8 after missing the past two games with an ankle injury. Dallas is No. 8 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs, and I hope that helps Love perform well. But we don't know if the Cardinals will put Love in a featured role, which they were reluctant to do when he was fully healthy, or will he share with Tyler Allgeier and Zonovan Knight. We also don't know if Love is 100 percent. Cardinals coach Mike LaFleur said Love is "feeling as good as he can feel." Given the uncertainty with Love, I would only use him as a flex option in most leagues.
