Walter (undisclosed) was placed on IR on Thursday. Walter was working to earn a depth role in the Raiders' backfield after joining the team on a reserve/future deal in January. The 26-year-old hasn't appeared in an NFL game since 2021 with the Jets, and now he'll likely have to wait a while longer. Unless he reaches an injury settlement with the team, Walter will be forced to miss the entirety of the 2023 campaign.

The Raiders signed Walter to a reserve/future contract Monday. Walter first joined up with Las Vegas in July and spent the preseason with the team. However, the 5-foot-8 running back never managed to crack the team's final 53-man roster, as he spent the entirety of the 2022 campaign on the practice squad. Walter logged 26 carries for 101 yards and a touchdown over four games with the Jets in 2021, and he'll look to compete for an active roster spot heading into the 2023 season.

The Raiders signed Walter to their practice squad Wednesday. Walter was waived by the Raiders on Tuesday as part of the team's final roster cuts, but he'll join the organization's practice squad a day later. The 26-year-old has appeared in nine games between the Giants, 49ers and Jets over the last three seasons.

The journeyman has also spent time with the Jets, 49ers and Giants over the previous three seasons and will now have to look for another landing spot.

Las Vegas signed Walter on Friday. Walter gets another chance to make an impression on an NFL team after the Jets waived him back in May. He'll be hard-pressed to make the 53-man roster in a Raiders running back room that already features Josh Jacobs, Kenyan Drake, Brandon Bolden and 2022 fourth-round pick Zamir White.
