Jones is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Jaguars due to cramps, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. Jones headed back to the locker room after getting checked out by trainers. Germain Ifedi will take over at right tackle while Jones is sidelined.

Jones will start at right tackle for Sunday's game versus the Cowboys, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports. Regular starter Jack Conklin (knee) is unavailable in Week 1, so the second-year man Jones will get the start in his place. James Hudson will begin Sunday's contest on the other side of the line at left tackle.

Jones (knee) participated in practice Tuesday, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports. Jones underwent surgery in December to repair the torn MCL in his right knee that he sustained in practice. He sat out of OTAs and minicamp, but the 2023 fourth-round pick appears to have fully recovered from his surgery and is slated to serve as the backup right tackle behind Jack Conklin (knee).

Jones (knee) is hopeful to be ready for Week 1 in the upcoming season, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Jones suffered a torn MCL and missed the final five games of the regular season, plus the Browns' wild-card loss to the Texans. He is not participating in OTAs yet, but doctors originally told him he could be back practicing as early as June. Thus, he could start ramping things up soon. He projects to back up Jack Conklin (knee) at right tackle when healthy this season.
