Browns' Quinshon Judkins: Doesn't suit up for preseason finale
Judkins didn't play in Thursday's exhibition win over New England.
Judkins also missed the team's second preseason game due to an undisclosed injury, but he returned to practice this past Monday and seems to be past the issue. He ended up logging action in only the first of the Browns' exhibition contests, when he carried four times for nine yards. Judkins is the clear No. 1 RB for Cleveland and could be headed for a heavy workload on a team that may again deploy a shaky passing game.

Browns' Joe Royer: DNP on Thursday
Royer (personal) did not play in Thursday's preseason finale against the Patriots.
Royer's absence Thursday means the tight end missed the entirety of the preseason due to a personal issue. The fifth-round tight end out of Cincinnati's current status within the organization is unclear, and it remains to be seen whether he will be a casualty of Sunday's roster cutdown.

Browns' Harold Fannin: Doesn't play Thursday vs. NE
Fannin did not play in the Browns' 37-13 preseason win over the Patriots on Thursday.
Fannin and several other Browns starters -- including Deshaun Watson, Quinshon Judkins and rookie wide receivers KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston -- were idle for Cleveland's preseason finale Thursday. Despite shaky quarterback play in 2025, Fannin was able to put together a productive rookie campaign, as he logged 72 catches (on 107 targets) for 731 yards and six touchdowns while adding seven carries for 13 yards and a score across 16 regular-season games. David Njoku is no longer with the Browns, so Fannin is the unquestioned TE1 on the depth chart and could be a go-to target for Watson in the passing game.

Browns' Mekhi Blackmon: Heading to Cleveland
The Browns claimed Blackmon off waivers from the Colts on Friday, Howard Balzer of USA Today reports.
The move became official following the Browns' 37-13 preseason win over the Patriots on Thursday. Blackmon was able to play in all 17 regular-season games for the Colts last year after missing the entire 2024 campaign (as a member of the Vikings) due to a torn ACL. His addition gives the Browns extra depth at outside cornerback behind Denzel Ward and Tyson Campbell.

Browns' Carsen Ryan: Two catches in preseason finale
Ryan (foot) caught both of his targets for nine yards in Thursday's 37-13 preseason win over the Patriots.
Ryan managed to suit up two days after exiting Tuesday's practice early due to a foot injury. The rookie seventh-round pick is aiming to secure a spot on Cleveland's 53-man roster in a TE room led by Harold Fannin.

Browns' Taylen Green: Plays second half of preseason finale
Green completed five of seven passes for 27 yards while rushing eight times for 66 yards in Thursday's 37-13 preseason win over the Patriots.
Green got his first taste of NFL game action by playing the second half of Thursday's preseason finale after Dillon Gabriel tossed three first-half touchdowns. The rookie sixth-round pick out of Arkansas wasn't asked to do much as a passer, but Green showed off his mobility and finished as the team's leading rusher. Green had 16 rushing touchdowns in two years at Arkansas after scoring 19 across his preceding two seasons at Boise State, but he likely needs some development as a passer, and he's set to open the regular season as the fourth option on Cleveland's QB depth chart behind Deshaun Watson, Shedeur Sanders and Gabriel.

Browns' Dillon Gabriel: Tosses three TDs in preseason win
Gabriel completed 12 of 15 passes for 186 yards and three touchdowns while rushing four times for three yards in Thursday's 37-13 preseason win over the Patriots.
Gabriel got the start in the preseason finale with the Browns resting anointed Week 1 starter Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders. The 2025 third-round pick made the most of his opportunity Thursday, throwing touchdown passes of six and 14 yards to Luke Floriea, as well as a seven-yard touchdown pass to Ahmani Marshall in the first half before subbing out for rookie sixth-round pick Taylen Green at halftime. Gabriel is third on Cleveland's QB depth chart heading into the regular season, but he started six games during his rookie campaign and could work his way into the mix again, as neither Watson nor Sanders has looked particularly impressive.

Browns' Andre Szmyt: Makes all seven kicks Thursday
Szmyt converted all three of his field-goal attempts and went 4-for-4 on PATs in Thursday's 37-13 preseason win over the Patriots.
Szmyt is the only kicker on Cleveland's roster, and the Syracuse product rewarded the Browns' faith in him with a perfect performance Thursday. He served as the Browns' kicker for the entire 2025 regular season, connecting on 24 of 27 field-goal attempts. The Browns are expected to have one of the league's worst offenses again in 2026 after scoring the second-fewest points in the 2025 regular season, so Szmyt's opportunities are likely to remain limited, Thursday's busy exhibition outing notwithstanding.

Browns' Elijah Chatman: Exits with quad injury
Chatman (quadriceps) will not return to Thursday's preseason finale against the Patriots.
Chatman exited the game in the second quarter and was promptly ruled out. The former Jets defensive tackle is on the roster bubble as it is, and the injury increases the chances Chatman will be a victim of Sunday's cutdown day.

Browns' Edefuan Ulofoshio: Won't return Thursday
Ulofoshio (biceps) will not return to Thursday's matchup with the Patriots.
The linebacker went to the locker room before being ruled out, per Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram. Ulofoshio did not record a stat before exiting. The former Bill is fighting for a roster spot in Cleveland.

Browns' Carson Schwesinger: Not in line to play Thursday
Schwesinger (undisclosed) isn't expected to play in Thursday's preseason game against the Patriots, Kelsey Russo of the Browns' official site reports.
Schwesinger has been tending to an undisclosed injury since late July, but after a standout rookie campaign in 2025 in which he accounted for 156 tackles, including 2.5 sacks, and two interceptions among three pass defenses in 16 regular-season games, the Browns won't risk the health of the player donning the green dot in the middle of their defense.
