• Bryce Perkins: Let go by Carolina

  Perkins was waived by the Panthers on Monday, Darin Gantt of the team's official website reports. Perkins signed with the Panthers on Aug. 17, completing 10 of 11 passes for 71 yards, while also adding two rushes for 28 yards in Thursday's 19-10 loss to the Steelers. Although he enjoyed plenty of success the last two springs with the UFL's Michigan Panthers, Perkins hasn't appeared in an NFL contest since 2022, and he'll likely have to settle for a practice-squad spot ahead of the 2025 campaign.

• Panthers' Bryce Perkins: Returns to NFL with Carolina

  Perkins, who is the reigning UFL MVP, is signing a contract with the Panthers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Perkins joins Carolina after the team's No. 2 quarterback Andy Dalton suffered an elbow sprain during Saturday's 20-3 preseason loss to Houston. The UFL star last spent time in the NFL as a backup with the Rams in 2022, when he completed 19 of 34 passes for 161 yards in five appearances. He won the UFL Championship with the Michigan Panthers this spring, completing 69 percent of his passes while throwing for 1,342 yards and nine touchdowns and running for five more TDs. He also was named league MVP and Offensive Player of the Year. The 28-year-old Perkins will provide extra depth behind starter Bryce Young. Second-year quarterback Jack Plummer is on the roster as well.

• Rams' Bryce Perkins: Struggles in first NFL start

  Perkins completed 13 of 23 passes for 100 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions during Sunday's 26-10 loss to Kansas City. He added 44 rushing yards on nine carries. Making the first start of his NFL career, Perkins struggled to move the ball through the air but did manage to lead the Rams in rushing yards. His first career TD pass went to Van Jefferson in the fourth quarter, but Los Angeles was down 20-3 at the time. With Allen Robinson (foot) now out for the year and Cooper Kupp (ankle) on IR as well, Perkins won't have much help even if he does get another start in Week 13 against the Seahawks in place of Matthew Stafford (neck).

  With Matthew Stafford in the concussion protocol for the second time since Week 9 and John Wolford (neck) also hurt, Perkins could be the starter for the Rams in Week 12 at the Chiefs. That makes him someone to add in Superflex and two-quarterback leagues for at least 5 percent of your remaining FAB. Perkins replaced Stafford in the third quarter of Week 11 at New Orleans and was 5-of-10 passing for 64 yards and ran five times for 39 yards. He has limited weapons and a bad offensive line, but his rushing ability could be attractive in deeper leagues. Keep an eye on the health for Stafford and Walford, but Perkins could be a low-end starter in Superflex and two-quarterback formats in Week 12.

• Rams' Bryce Perkins: Serviceable in emergency duty

  Perkins took over for Matthew Stafford (head) with 5:47 remaining in the third quarter of Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Saints and completed five of 10 passes for 64 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions and ran five times for 39 yards. Considering he had all of one NFL pass attempt under his belt prior to Sunday, Perkins handled himself fairly well after being thrust into action. The Virginia product could be in line to serve as no less than the No. 2 quarterback in Week 12 against the Chiefs if either Stafford or John Wolford (neck) are unable to suit up.
