Bilal received a workout with the Colts on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports. Bilal went undrafted out of Notre Dame and has spent time with the Chargers and Raiders. The 24-year-old has had issues staying healthy, spending time on IR due to a calf injury in 2020 and being waived with an injury settlement by the Raiders on Sept. 3. Bilal appeared in two games with the Chargers in 2020, playing 12 special teams snaps.

Bilal (undisclosed) reverted to the Raiders' injured reserve Thursday, per the NFL's transaction log. The UDFA showed promise during his rookie season last year, but a calf injury derailed his progress, and he was ultimately waived by the Chargers. Bilal's 2021 campaign is now in jeopardy, unless he is able to reach an injury settlement with Las Vegas.

Bilal has been promoted to the Chargers' active roster. Bilal spent the offseason and training camp with the Bolts before being added to the team's practice squad ahead of Week 1. The undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame will serve as some additional depth to the linebacker corps with starter Drue Tranquill (ankle) placed on injured reserve Tuesday.
