Kevin Ogletree favored to be Lions' No. 3 receiver

Detroit Lions receiver Kevin Ogletree has opened training camp by running with Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate on the first team, reports MLive.com. Ogletree took the lead for the No. 3 job with stellar play during OTAs and "several nice catches during minicamp," the report said. "This is the biggest opportunity of my career," Ogletree said, "and it would be selfish of me not to indulge in it and bury myself in the playbook. Just overcommit myself to getting better every day."I've always felt confident about my game. But like I said, this is the biggest opportunity of my career. And there was no way I was going to mess this thing up." Ogletree caught 13 passes for 199 yards and a touchdown after signing with Detroit for the final 12 games last year. He went through a grueling training program to get ready for 2014, the website said. While he lacks Johnson's size or Tate's speed, Ogletree "runs nice, consistent patterns and has had a knack for getting separation from defensive backs." Ogletree also has had few, if any drops in camp, the website said.
