Donald Butler: Cut by Cards
Donald Butler was cut by the Cardinals on Friday, ESPN's Adam Caplan reports.Butler signed with Arizona at the end of July after being released by the Chargers. While he started his career with four straight seasons with at least 73 tackles, Butler's production waned last year, evidenced by his mere 43 stops. Although the 27-year-old's past numbers and relative youth should see him land elsewhere this season, he'll now be looking for his third team in a matter of months.

Cardinals' Donald Butler: Inks deal with Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals signed Donald Butler on Wednesday, the team's official site reports.Butler has been on the free-agent market since the Chargers released the inside linebacker in early March. Chargers' Donald Butler: May be released this offseason
Donald Butler could be released this offseason, Tom Krasovic of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports. This is somewhat surprising considering Butler signed a massive seven year contract just two seasons ago. Butler seemed to fall out of the defensive rotation as the 2015 season progressed, with rookie linebacker Denzel Perryman seemingly taking over the starting linebacker job alongside Manti Te'o after the team's Week 10 bye. While Butler is just 27 years-old, he's failed to register one season with 100-plus tackles, and has only managed to play in all 16 games just twice in his five year career, so it remains to be seen what kind of market may surface for the former Washington standout if he does wind up on the open market.

Chargers LB Donald Butler looks to have better focus in 2015
The San Diego Chargers have a new linebacker coach in Mike Nolan. After speaking with Nolan, linebacker Donald Butler is looking to improve his focus this upcoming season, reports the UT San Diego. "What I see is a guy who wants to get his game back in order," Nolan said. "Hopefully, he does it. He's said that he has a much better focus this year than he had last as far as his offseason goes. I'm very hopeful that he comes back in tip-top shape. We can start working on the things I hope to be able to teach him, to help him out and make him a better player." Butler was expected to be a three-down linebacker for the Chargers last year. But as the 2014 season wore on, he was relegated to playing in the base defense. Butler is entering his sixth season in the NFL after missing his entire rookie season due to injury. Over his career, the 26-year-old has 330 total tackles, 6.5 sacks, 12 passes defensed, three interceptions and four forced fumbles.
