James Ihedigbo: Wants to play in 2017
James Ihedigbo (leg/suspension) wants to play in 2017 after appearing in just four contests in 2016, Michael Rothstein of ESPN reports.Ihedigbo's 2016 season ended after he fractured his fibula late in the year while playing for the Bills. Though he claims his leg has "100 percent healed," he will still have to sit out four games due to a suspension. The age-33 safety last saw significant playing time in 2015, when he played in 15 games for Detroit and recorded 63 tackles and an interception. The veteran believes he still has gas in the tank, but he may need to wait until a team faces injuries to the safety position before he gets signed.

Bills' James Ihedigbo: Played through fractured leg
James Ihedigbo was placed on injured reserve in 2016 due to a fractured leg and not an ankle injury, The Buffalo News reports.Ihedigbo suffered what was thought to be an ankle injury in Week 14 against the Steelers. However, it turned out to be much worse than that, even though the veteran safety was able to finish out that week's game. It isn't clear how long his recovery will extend into the offseason, but as an unrestricted free agent, he'll need to prove his health in order to land another contract.

Bills' James Ihedigbo: Ankle injury suffered during defeat
James Ihedigbo sustained an ankle injury during Sunday's loss to Pittsburgh, BuffaloBuffalo Bills.com reports.Ihedigbo did have six tackles before departing, though that's partly because everyone in the secondary was far too familiar with Pittsburgh's Le'Veon Bell as the game wore on. If Ihedigbo can't go this week against the Browns, the Bills will likely split his usual workload between Jonathan Meeks and Corey White.

Bills' James Ihedigbo: Uncertain to play
James Ihedigbo (ankle) is questionable to play Sunday against the Raiders.Ihedigbo was back at practice both Thursday and Friday after sitting out Wednesday. His ankle injury doesn't appear to be overly serious, though, so the expectation is for him to be on the field come Sunday. If he's ultimately ruled out, the Buffalo Bills will likely turn to either borrowed corner Corey White or Sergio Brown as their starting strong safety.

Bills' James Ihedigbo: Misses Wednesday's practice
James Ihedigbo missed practice Wednesday due to an ankle injury. While Ihedigbo isn't a full-fledged starter, he saw the most plays at strong safety in Week 12. With Aaron Williams and Robert Blanton out for the season, the Buffalo Bills would be down to their fourth option if he can't go Sunday in Oakland. This is the first we've heard of the ailment, however, so there's a chance it's minor as the veteran continues to get himself in game shape after not having an NFL job the first nine weeks of the season.

Bills' James Ihedigbo: Role continues to grow
James Ihedigbo played 44 of 68 defensive snaps in Sunday's win over the Jaguars, logging three tackles. The Buffalo Bills are using a rotation at strong safety to fill the void stemming from season-ending injuries to Aaron Williams and Robert Blanton, but Ihedigbo ended up getting the most playing time Sunday. The veteran just joined the Bills on Nov. 15 and isn't really worth owing unless he started seeing full-time starter's minutes, but he played a good game Sunday and the thought of him taking over the role completely can't be ruled out down the stretch. Jonathan Meeks only saw 19 defensive snaps and Sergio Brown only saw time on special teams.
