The Denver Broncos released tight end James Casey on Saturday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chroniclereports.Casey was active for three games this year but did not record any statistics. He was removed from the roster to open up a spot for Derek Wolfe, who is returning from a suspension.

Report: Broncos sign TE/FB James Casey on Saturday
The Denver Broncos signed free agent tight end/fullback James Casey to a one-year deal on Saturday, reuniting him with coach Gary Kubiak, per ProFootballTalk.com. Casey spent his first four seasons in the NFL with the Texans under Kubiak, registering 752 receiving yards and four touchdown in 61 games (20 starts). He caught six passes for 90 yards and two touchdowns his final two seasons with Philadelphia.

Report: James Casey to visit Jaguars Wednesday
Free-agent tight end James Casey is scheduled to visit the Jacksonville Jaguars Wednesday, the Florida Times-Union reports. Casey has reportedly met with Tennessee, Cleveland, Denver and Arizona and also had visits scheduled with Cincinanti and Washington. He was released by the Eagles in February, saving the team $4 million.

Report: Tight end James Casey to visit Cardinals, Broncos
Free-agent tight end James Casey is scheduled to visit the Arizona Cardinals later this week, reports 910 AM in Phoenix. Casey is also scheduled to visit the Denver Broncos on Thursday, reports The Denver Post. Casey was recently released by the Eagles. In 2014, he caught three passes for 59 yards and two touchdowns.

Eagles release James Casey
The Philadelphia Eagles announced the team has released tight end James Casey on Thursday. Casey confirmed the news on Twitter, saying he'd been "fired" by the Eagles. The move will give the Eagles some salary cap flexibility. Casey was slated to earn $4 million in 2015, and his entire salary is non-guaranteed, meaning it will all count as cap savings. Casey played in all 16 games for the Eagles last season, starting two. He had three catches for 59 yards and two touchdowns.

Eagles TEs Zach Ertz, Brent Celek not doing much in Week 12
Philadelphia Eagles tight ends Zach Ertz and Brent Celek combined for 78 yards during Sunday's victory over the Titans in Week 12. Ertz made a brief trip to the locker room with an oblique injury before being cleared by the medical staff to return to the game in the second quarter. He was targeted six times and finished with four catches for 30 yards. Celek five of the seven passes thrown in his direction for 48 yards. Meanwhile, the No. 3 tight end James Casey came down with a 14-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter. It was his only catch of the game in a 43-24 victory.

Eagles' tight ends very busy in blowout win
The Philadelphia Eagles got all three of their tight ends involved in the passing game Sunday night against the Giants. Top threat Zach Ertz caught three passes for 47 yards and a touchdown. Brent Celek hauled in four of his five targets for 45 yards, and James Casey scored on a 26-yard grab in the second quarter.It was Casey's first touchdown since 2012 with Houston. Philly is on a bye Week 7.

All of the Philadelphia Eagles listed as probables on the team's final injury report are active for Sunday's Week 5 matchup against the Rams, including tight ends James Casey (knee) and Trey Burton (Achilles), cornerback Nolan Carroll (ankle), wide receivers Jeremy Maclin (hamstring), Brad Smith (groin) and Josh Huff (shoulder), tackle Matt Tobin (ankle) and safety Earl Wolff (knee). Huff indicated during the week that he was healthy and ready to play despite being continued to be listed on the injury report. He'll make his professional debut on Sunday if he gets on to the field. Wide receiver Jeff Maehl, who is inactive with Huff ready to roll, played just four offensive snaps in Week 4.
