49ers' Jeremy Zuttah: Traded to San Francisco
Jeremy Zuttah was traded to the San Francisco 49ers on Wednesday.Correcting a previous report, Zuttah was not released by the Ravens but instead traded to the Niners in order for Baltimore to move up 12 picks in the sixth round of the upcoming draft. 49ers' Jeremy Zuttah: Traded to Niners
Jeremy Zuttah was traded to the San Francisco 49ers on Wednesday, the team's official website reports.Baltimore's starting center for the past three seasons, the 30-year-old Zuttah was signed to a reasonable contract, but the team decided that the $5.8 million in cap space over the next two seasons that his trade created was more important than keeping him around. The Ravens and Niners swapped sixth-round picks in the deal as well, moving Baltimore up 12 spots to the 186th overall selection and granting San Francisco the 198th spot. The Ravens, meanwhile, have John Urschel and Ryan Jensen as potential in-house replacements on a shaky offensive line. The team also lost starting right tackle Ryan Wagner (via free agency), leaving o-line as an obvious need heading into the draft.
