49ers' Chris Harper: Catches one pass for six yards Sunday

Chris Harper caught one pass (two targets) for six yards in Sunday's loss to Chicago.Harper caught one of the five completions San Francisco quarterbacks made Sunday, so no one had a strong fantasy game from a receiving standpoint. Prior to Sunday's disastrous outing, Harper had shown some big-play ability with 67 yards on four receptions over his previous two games. With how poor the San Francisco 49ers' receivers have been this season, it wouldn't be crazy to think the club gives him a longer look in the final weeks of the season. That being said, we wouldn't recommend him until heavy usage is shown on a consistent basis.

49ers' Chris Harper: Hauls in two passes for 32 yards Sunday

Chris Harper corralled two of his four targets for 32 yards in Sunday's loss to the Dolphins. The practice squad receiver has now tallied four catches for 67 yards over his last two contests, averaging a shade under 17 yards per reception. Quinton Patton left Sunday's game with a concussion, but Rod Streater benefited most from his absence. Harper has shown his big-play ability these past two games, but he remains buried on the depth chart behind a handful of veteran wideouts. However, with the San Francisco 49ers sitting at 1-10, they may opt to give Harper more looks in the final weeks of the season to see what they have in the 27-year-old receiver.

49ers' Chris Harper: Promoted to 49ers' roster

Chris Harper was promoted from the San Francisco 49ers' practice squad to their active roster on Tuesday.Martin suited up for the 49ers' season opener and was released the next day, but he is now back on the roster in place of fellow receiver Keshawn Martin. Harper will provide depth at the receiver position but will slot in sixth on the depth chart, so his role figures to be minimal.
