    Lions' Joique Bell: Inactive Monday

Joique Bell is listed as inactive Monday in Dallas.Bell joins Theo Riddick (wrist) among the Detroit Lions' DNPs in Week 16, leaving the backfield in the hands of Dwayne Washington and Zach Zenner. As the regular season draws to a close, Bell will likely require an injury to one of Washington or Zenner in order to get any run in his second stint with the Lions.

Lions' Joique Bell: Logs one carry Sunday

Joique Bell did not receive a carry Sunday against the Bears but caught one pass that went for minus-two yards. In his first game back with the Detroit Lions, Bell clearly served in a depth role and that was without top dog Theo Riddick (wrist) in the fold. He is likely off the fantasy radar in nearly all formats.

Lions' Joique Bell: Returns to Detroit

Joique Bell signed with the Detroit Lions on Tuesday.Outside of a four-game stint with the Bears, Bell has spent much of the season looking for work, but he will now head back to Detroit for the time being. The Lions likely view him primarily as depth, but it will not take him long to get re-acclimated if he is needed at any point the rest of the way.

Joique Bell: Works out for Packers, but leaves without contract

Joique Bell was among three running backs to work out for the Packers on Tuesday, but no signing was made, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. On Sunday morning, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that the RB-needy Packers were expected to ink Bell to a deal as early as Monday. However, Ty Montgomery returned from a one-game absence Sunday and fueled a competent ground attack versus the Colts, contributing a team-high 53 yards on seven carries to 116 total for the Packers. With James Starks (knee) growing ever healthier, the coaching staff must be confident that the tried and true running back will be available in the near future, and perhaps as early as Sunday at Tennessee. Even if he's not, Bell seemingly won't be a part of the offensive picture in Green Bay in Week 10.

Joique Bell: Appears headed for Green Bay

Joique Bell is expected to sign with the Packers on Monday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.Bell has played his entire five-year career in the NFC North, but was cast away by the Bears after appearing in four games (31 total snaps) in 2016. Signing the 30-year-old is likely just a short-term solution for the Packers, who are hopeful James Starks (knee) will return soon from meniscus surgery to fill the void left by the placement of Eddie Lacy (ankle) on IR. The pending signing does little to help Sunday's backfield situation, however, as the team is expected to lean on natural wideout Ty Montgomery at tailback, with Don Jackson and fullback Aaron Ripkowski in line to serve as complementary options. Bell would provide the team with an alternative option, having amassed over 2,200 yards and 22 touchdowns in his NFL career. Keep in mind the Knile Davis situation when considering adding Bell, however, as the team has shown they have no qualms about cutting bait with a back that's not the right fit, especially given the looming return of Starks.

    Joique Bell: Released by Bears

Joique Bell was released by the Bears on Monday, Field Yates of ESPN.com reports. With Jeremy Langford (ankle) sidelined, Bell was operating as an additional body behind Jordan Howard and Ka'Deem Carey in the backfield, but was able to carry the ball just three times for six yards over four games. The 30-year-old veteran should field some interest while on the open free agent market, although no matter where he signs, he'll likely struggle to get significant carries.

Bears' Joique Bell: Gains six yards against his former team Sunday

Joique Bell carried three times for six yards Sunday against the Lions. After being signed earlier in the week to give the Chicago Bears backfield depth, Bell saw time on the field when Jordan Howard briefly had to leave with a minor injury. Bell will likely continue to see a few carries per game until either Ka'Deem Carey (hamstring) or Jeremy Langford (ankle) return to action.

Joique Bell: Joining injury-depleted Chicago backfield

Joique Bell is signing with the Bears on Tuesday, GQ's Rand Getlin reports. With Jeremy Langford (ankle) facing an extended absence and Ka'Deem Carey (hamstring) potentially also unavailable, the Bears will turn to a player who is familiar to NFC North fans. Bell spent the first four years of his career with Detroit, serving as the team's lead back for much of 2013 and 2014, though he mostly worked in a part-time role in 2012 and 2015. Given Chicago's injury woes, Bell could have an immediate role in the backfield, though he's unlikely to leapfrog rookie Jordan Howard. This isn't too much of a concern for the rookie's owners, as Bell is 30 years old and will have to learn a new playbook.

Joique Bell: Return to Detroit not ruled out

Prior to releasing the running back, the Lions offered Joique Bell an opportunity to stay with the team at a reduced rate, which he declined, mlive.com reports. The move saved the Lions $2.5 million against the team's 2016 salary cap. That said, Bell, who turns 30 in August, hasn't ruled out a potential return to Detroit, but before such a notion is entertained, he'll explore his options as a free agent. Bell is coming off a 2015 campaign in which he averaged just 3.5 yards on 90 carries over the span of 13 contests.

    Joique Bell: Released by Lions

The Lions released Joique Bell on Tuesday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports. In a cost-cutting move, the Lions have decided to move on from Bell, who burst onto the scene during the 2012 season. His production on both the ground and through the air spurred the sides to agree to a two-year extension during the 2014 offseason. However, injuries afflicted him throughout the past campaign, as he managed 90 carries for 311 yards, 22 receptions (on 27 targets) for 286 yards, and four touchdowns across 13 appearances. The 29-year-old back will now aim to join another organization, though a change-of-pace role is likely his ceiling at this point in his career.
