Steven Jackson among notable players inactive for Falcons
The following players were ruled inactive for the Atlanta Falcons in Week 17 against Carolina: cornerback Ricardo Allen, safety Charles Godfrey, running back Steven Jackson, defensive end Stansly Maponga, quarterback Sean Renfree, tackle Jonathan Scott and linebacker Tyler Starr. Jackson entered this week as questionable after suffering a quadriceps injury against New Orleans in Week 16. Jacquizz Rodgers and rookie Devonta Freeman will share the load. Jackson could return to action in the postseason, if Atlanta defeat Carolina on Sunday.

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones (hip) is the most notable player listed as questionable for Week 14 against Pittsburgh. other players deemed questionable were fullback Patrick DiMarco (illness) and safety William Moore (foot). Guard Jon Asamoah (back), guard Justin Blalock (back), wide receiver Harry Douglas (foot), defensive end Stansly Maponga (elbow), defensive tackle Paul Soliai (shoulder) and wide receiver Roddy White (ankle) were all labeled as probable. Falcons WR Harry Douglas returns to practice Friday
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Harry Douglas (foot) was a limited participant in practice Friday, the team announced. Douglas was unable to practice Wednesday after catching nine passes for 116 yards in a Week 13 win against the Cardinals but made his return to action Friday. Provided he can continue practicing Saturday, he figures to be active for Monday's Week 14 matchup with the Packers. Guard Justin Blalock (back) and defensive end Stansly Maponga (elbow) were both limited Friday for a second straight day. Wide receiver Roddy White (ankle) and cornerback Robert Alford (wrist) remained out of practice Friday.

Stansly Maponga should be ready for camp
Atlanta Falcons rookie defensive end Stansly Maponga, a fifth-round pick from TCU, should be fine for the start of training camp, reports the team's official website. Maponga was hampered in the offseason by a foot injury, but he's expected to be fine. He dealt with foot problems last year at TCU.
