    Darrel Young rushed four times for 15 yards in Saturday's preseason game against the Titans.Young played 21 snaps over the course of the game, with only Cameron Artis-Payne handling more carries among the Carolina Panthers' backs. However, in contrast to his team, which averaged over 7.5 yards per carry, Young's production was less impressive. That being said, as a fullback, Young's blocking skills are more critical to the Panthers' success than his running ability.

    Panthers' Darrel Young: Signs future contract

    Darrel Young signed a reserve/future contract with the Carolina Panthers on Wednesday.Young spent training camp with the Bears last season but failed to earn a spot on the 53-man roster. Previously, he spent six seasons with the Redskins, scoring 13 touchdowns over that span.     Redskins FB Darrel Young scores twice in home win vs. Eagles

    Washington Redskins fullback Darrel Young only carried the ball twice, but capitalized on each occasion. Young scored twice from 1-yard out in the third quarter, leading his team to a 27-24 victory over Philadelphia in Week 16. He finished the game with two carries for 2 yards and two scores. He also caught one pass for 3 yards.

    Redskins get offensive contributions Week 8

    The Washington Redskins got a slew of offensive contributions in Monday's overtime win at Dallas. Among them, running back Roy Helu ran five times for 29 yards and caught both his targets for 14 yards. Running back Silas Redd had a 5-yard rush. Tight end Niles Paul caught all three of his targets for 27 yards, and fullback Darrel Young had a 12-yard catch. Wideout Andre Roberts secured just one of his five targets for 11 yards. They'll all visit the Vikings in Week 9.

    The Washington Redskins listed 10 players on their final injury report for Sunday's Week 7 clash against the Titans. Robert Griffin III (ankle), Akeem Jordan (knee) and Tracy Porter (hamstring) were the only three to be officially ruled out for the game. Deemed questionable were David Amerson (concussion), Ryan Clark (ankle) and Perry Riley Jr. (knee). Brian Orakpo (ankle), Trenton Robinson (ankle), Trent Williams (knee) and Darrel Young (hamstring) were all officially ruled probable for Sunday.

    Washington's backup runners fail to do much Thursday

    Washington 's backup runners failed to see much action Thursday against the Giants. Roy Helu only received two carries, picking up 8 yards on the ground. He actually led the team in receiving yards, gaining 78 yards on five receptions. With the team down by quite a bit, Helu became a safe option in the passing game.  Fullback Darrel Young had one carry, picking up 1 yard. Both players will look for more Week 5 against the Seahawks.
