Ryan Spadola is a "fringe contender" for the Detroit Lions' remaining roster spots at wide receiver, Justin Rogers of The Detroit News reports.Spadola is coming off a season entirely wiped out by a pectoral injury and will likely need to separate himself on special teams in order to secure one of what is likely just one or two open roster spots at receiver. He made some nice catches in spring practices and was specifically praised by head coach Jim Caldwell during rookie minicamp, according to Kyle Meinke of MLive.com, so he at least appears to have some momentum heading into training camp.

Lions' Ryan Spadola: Resides on IR
Ryan Spadola (pectoral) is currently on the Detroit Lions' Reserve/Injured list.Since going undrafted out of Lehigh in 2013, Spadola had bounced around the league before joining the Lions' practice squad in 2015. He then signed a futures contract with the team at the end of the season, but suffered a torn pectoral muscle over the summer and was placed on injured reserve shortly thereafter. His future with the team beyond the 2016 campaign is uncertain.

The Arizona Cardinals relased punter Dave Zastudil, LB Lorenzo Alexander, ILB Glenn Carson, G Nate Isles, ILB Edwin Jackson, ILB Andrae Kirk, S Shaq Richardson, TE Gannon Sinclair, WR Ryan Spadola and S Darren Woodard on Monday. Dolphins down to 75 players
The Miami Dolphins waived receivers Armon Binns and Ryan Spadola, tight end Brett Brackett, cornerback Steven Clarke, defensive end Rakim Cox, defensive tackle Cory Grissom and center Tyler Larsen. Miami also put defensive tackle A.J. Francis, running back Mike Gillislee and tight end Arthur Lynch on injured reserve, ending their seasons.

Dolphins sign seven players
The Miami Dolphins signed defensive tackle Isaako Aaitui, running back Cameron Marshall, tight end Kyle Miller, tight end-fullback Emmanuel Ogbuehi, offensive tackle Michael Ola, wide receiver Ryan Spadola and offensive tackle Jason Weaver. Ola played in the CFL the past two seasons, while the rest ended 2013 on Miami's practice squad.
