Cowboys' Rodney Smith: Snags touchdown in preseason loss
Rodney Smith secured three of four targets for 32 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's 27-17 preseason loss to the Seahawks. The third-year FSU product hauled in a tough six-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter from the arm of Jameill Showers, capping a six-play, 74-yard drive. After only tallying one catch in his first two preseason games, Thursday's production was pivotal in Smith's case for a final roster spot. However, with zero regular-season receptions in his first two seasons and strong competition for the remaining receiver jobs, Smith appears to face an uphill battle to survive final cuts heading into the final exhibition contest.
