Josh Evans: Announces retirement
Josh Evans announced his retirement Monday, Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.In three years with the Jaguars from 2013-15, Evans played in at least 15 games and registered 50-plus tackles in all three seasons. His best campaign came in 2014, when he tallied 90 tackles (62 solos), two passes defended and two fumbles recovered. However, since 2015, the Florida product has only seen action in two NFL games and has ultimately decided to call it quits on his pro career.

Josh Evans was released by the Redskins on Thursday, Stephen Czarda of the Redskins' official site reports.Evans and fellow safety Earl Wolff were sent packing Thursday as the team decided to bring in two new safeties for training camp, Stefan McClure and Tim Scott. Evans only played in two games for the Redskins last season, fulfilling more of a depth role in the secondary. Only 26, the safety could catch on elsewhere in time for the beginning of the regular season.
