Bills' Rafael Bush: Opts for retirement
Rafael Bush has decided to retire from football, Chris Brown of the Buffalo Bills' official site reports. The veteran actually had a decent shot at making the team after doing a nice job as a depth signee in 2018. However, he also had no chance of starting and the Bills have plenty of young guys to take his place. Additionally, a new veteran immediately entered the fold Friday, as the team signed Kurt Coleman. Bush has played in the league since 2011 and put together a nice career after going undrafted in 2010.

Bills' Rafael Bush: Day-to-day with shoulder issue
Rafael Bush won't practice Wednesday and is considered day-to-day due to a shoulder injury, Mike Rodak of ESPN.com reports.Bush still has a couple of days to ramp up his participation in practice and the day-to-day tag suggests that could be a possibility. Saints' Rafael Bush: Signing with Saints
Rafael Bush agreed to terms with the New Orleans Saints on Thursday, Josh Katzenstein of NOLA.com reports.Bush played for the Saints from 2012-15, but spent last season with the Lions, starting four games and playing the remaining 12 as the team's No. 3 safety. He recorded 53 tackles and two interceptions, returning one of them for a touchdown. Bush is 30 years old, and while he may not start ahead of Kenny Vaccaro and Vonn Bell, he should still see a significant amount of snaps and act as a veteran presence on New Orleans defense.

Lions' Rafael Bush: Poised to be Lions' starting strong safety
Rafael Bush is poised to be the Detroit Lions' starting strong safety entering 2016, the Detroit Free Press reports.Bush has taken every first-team rep more than a week into training camp alongside entrenched-starter Glover Quin and appears to have won out in his competition with fellow free-agrent acquisition Tavon Wilson for Detroit's starting strong safety job. Wilson figures to be the team's No. 3 safety and should take the field in nickel packages. This pecking order doesn't figure to change before Week 1.

Lions' Rafael Bush: Will compete for starting role
Rafael Bush will compete with Tavon Wilson for the Detroit Lions' starting job at strong safety this offseason, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports. The Lions have a void to fill opposite incumbent FS Glover Quin (ankle), and Lion's GM Bob Quinn recently declared the newly-signed Bush a candidate for the gig. Tavon Wilson, the Lions' other free-agent signing at safety, appears to be Bush's main competition for the job, though Quinn didn't rule out the possibility of Detroit also adding more players to the competition as the offseason continues. For now, Bush is the favorite to win the role. He is undoubtedly the more tenured of the two, as Bush started 14 games for the Saints between 2013 and 2015, compared to Wilson's four total career starts. Should Bush win out, and avoid the injury bug that has plagued him the past two seasons, he will aim to improve a Detroit defense that surrendered a 10th-worst 25.0 points per game in 2015.
