T.J. Jones logged a tryout with the Packers on Monday, freelance NFL writer Howard Balzer reports.He was a roster casualty of the Giants last week in order to make room for Golden Tate, but as evidenced by this news, Jones is getting looks elsewhere. The 27-year-old played three games this season with New York, hauling in three of four targets for 38 yards and a touchdown in that span. Jones has had a history in the league, so he certainly makes for an intriguing option to provide receiver depth.

Jones was released by the Giants on Tuesday, Michael Eisen of the team's official site reports.Jones was released along with fellow receiver Bennie Fowler to make room for Golden Tate and Josiah Tauaefa on the 53-man roster. The 2014 sixth-round pick appeared in three games for the Giants this season, but he only registered statistics in Week 2, catching three passes for 38 yards and a score.
