Quinton Patton: Released with injury settlement
Quinton Patton (foot) was released from the Jets' injured reserve with an injury settlement, Rich Cimini of ESPN reports.Patton underwent foot surgery in December and has yet to fully recover. With there likely being at least 10 receivers ahead of him on the 90-man depth chart, he faced long odds to make the roster even if he was healthy. Once his foot heals, Patton will look to catch on with another team in 2017.

Jets' Quinton Patton: Placed on injured reserve
Quinton Patton (foot) was placed on injured reserve Monday, Ethan Greenberg of NewYorkNew York Jets.com reports.Patton underwent foot surgery last December and wasn't expected to be back in time for training camp, so the team wasted little time in moving him to IR to open up a roster spot. The Jets signed receiver Devin Street in a corresponding move to add depth at the position. Patton hauled in 37 of 63 targets for 408 yards last season with the 49ers.

Jets' Quinton Patton: Heading to Jets
The New York Jets and Quinton Patton (foot) agreed to terms on a contract Thursday, Eric Allen of the team's official site reports.A fourth-round pick of the 49ers in 2013, Patton managed just six receptions across 10 games in his first two seasons before landing a regular role within the offense. Despite the uptick in snaps beginning in 2015, uninspiring offenses under the direction of head coaches Jim Tomsula and Chip Kelly didn't translate to significant output, as evidenced by a combined 67 catches (on 120 targets) for 802 yards and one touchdown during that stretch. With the move to New York, Patton will now be jostling with a number of options -- wideouts Eric Decker (shoulder), Quincy Enunwa, and Robby Anderson, plus pass-catching backs Matt Forte (knee) and Bilal Powell -- in an offense led by graybeard quarterback Josh McCown.

Quinton Patton: Visits with Jets
Quinton Patton (foot) visited with the Jets on Saturday, the team's official website reports. The 2013 fourth-round selection had career-high marks in catches (37), targets (63) and receiving yards (408) last season, despite missing the final two games with a broken foot that required surgery. A return to San Francisco is seemingly out of the question, as the 49ers signed Pierre Garcon, Marquise Goodwin and Aldrick Robinson within the first few days of free agency. New York would be a favorable landing spot, potentially giving Patton a chance to compete for a role as the No. 3 or 4 wide receiver behind Eric Decker (shoulder) and Quincy Enunwa. He's never been much of a downfield threat, producing only 12.1 yards per catch on 73 career receptions with a long gain of 45 yards.

49ers' Quinton Patton: Out for rest of season
Quinton Patton (foot) has been ruled out for the remainder of this season, Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area reports.Patton was forced to leave early from Sunday's loss to the Falcons due to a foot injury, which will sideline him for the San Francisco 49ers' final two contests as well. With 37 catches on 63 targets for 408 yards, Patton currently ranks second on San Francisco in receiving, even though he didn't score a touchdown this season. In the wake of his upcoming absence, and with Torrey Smith still in concussion protocol, Jeremy Kerley and Rod Streater could lead the team's receiving corps to start this week.

49ers' Quinton Patton: Leaves game with foot injury
Quinton Patton exited Sunday's game against the Falcons in the second quarter with an apparent foot injury, according to CSN Bay Area. He did not return to the contest, finishing with three yards on two receptions. The severity of Patton's foot injury is unclear, but the fact that he was immediately ruled out does not bode well for his availability for Saturday's tilt against the Rams. Even if he is active next week, there are few situations which would warrant relying on Patton in this critical portion of the fantasy football season.

49ers' Quinton Patton: Catches four passes for 31 yards
Quinton Patton caught four passes ( six targets) for 31 yards in Sunday's overtime loss to the Jets.Patton bounced back from a no-catch performance last week, finishing second behind Jeremy Kerley in receptions, yards and targets Sunday. Torrey Smith went down with a concussion and had to be carted off the field. If he has not been cleared to play by next Sunday, expect Patton -- for what it's worth -- to finish in the top three in receiver targets next week against the Falcons.

49ers' Quinton Patton: Returns but does not see a target Sunday
Quinton Patton (concussion) was active Sunday after he passed the league' concussion protocol; however, he did not receive a target in a 26-6 loss to the Bears. It is tough to gauge the San Francisco 49ers' receivers in a game where the team passed for a measly 39 yards. That being said, Patton has only had one game of 60-plus receiving yards and has yet to find the endzone in 12 games as a starter. He holds minimal fantasy value and is unlikely to become a consistent option in San Francisco's inconsistent aerial attack.
