Giants' Javorius Allen: Future uncertain
Javorius Allen had only 10 carries for the New York Giants this year, and just one of those came in the season's final two games. The journeyman is likely to serve as a special teams/depth player should he make the roster in 2020.

Giants' Javorius Allen: First TD of season
Javorius Allen carried the ball eight times for 28 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 36-20 win over the Dolphins.Allen worked as the backup to Saquon Barkley with Wayne Gallman a healthy scratch. The 28-year-old took the field in the fourth quarter with the contest well out of hand, and he made the most of that opportunity to score the eighth rushing touchdown of his career. Across the previous seven contests, Allen had handled just one carry.

Giants' Javorius Allen: First carry of season
Javorius Allen recorded a four-yard rush in Sunday's 31-13 loss to the Packers. While Saquon Barkley continues his stranglehold on the backfield reps -- he played 96 percent of offensive snaps -- Allen logged three snaps and Wayne Gallman didn't touch the field. Both Allen and Gallman have similar handcuff value in case Barkley is injured during the fantasy playoffs.

Giants' Javorius Allen: Replaces Hilliman in NY backfield
Javorius Allen signed with the New York Giants on Friday, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York reports.Allen will replace undrafted rookie Jon Hilliman, who was waived Friday after struggling in the lead backfield role during Thursday's 35-14 loss to New England. The Giants presumably expect to have Saquon Barkley (ankle) and/or Wayne Gallman (concussion) back in the lineup for Week 7 against Arizona.

Saints' Javorius Allen: Inks deal with New Orleans
Javorius Allen signed a contract with the New Orleans Saints on Tuesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports. After being on the open market for several months, Allen has finally found a home for the summer. Allen should have a legitimate shot at a roster spot in New Orleans given that the team presumably only has two solid backfield options locked in with Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray. He will be in competition with Dwayne Washington and rookie Devine Ozigbo as offseason workouts continue.

Javorius Allen: Trying out for Saints
Javorius Allen worked out for the Saints on Thursday, Josh Katzenstein of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. It doesn't appear Allen has had many suitors in free agency thus far, but it's possible he's comfortable with taking his time to allow his market to develop as injuries inevitably pile up around the league. The USC product could be an interesting addition to a New Orleans depth chart that only has Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray locked in at the top, but he might be less versatile as a special-teams option than Dwayne Washington and perhaps a lesser runner than undrafted rookie Devine Ozigbo. Allen's best chances of sticking on somewhere would likely be due to his reliability on third downs.

Javorius Allen: Still available on open market
Javorius Allen remains unsigned after the first four weeks of the 2019 league year, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.Allen theoretically has some value as a competent option for passing downs, but his lack of explosiveness -- career marks of 3.7 yards per carry and 6.3 yards per catch -- could make it difficult to drum up interest. The 2015 fourth-round pick started six of 54 games in four seasons for Baltimore, with his best stretch of production coming in the second half of his rookie campaign. Another year in Baltimore wouldn't be the worst idea, as the team doesn't have an obvious third-down back to complement Mark Ingram, Gus Edwards and Kenneth Dixon. Given the current construction of the roster, either Ingram or Dixon would have to handle passing downs.

Ravens' Javorius Allen: Falls out of role in 2018
Javorius Allen finished the regular season with 41 carries for 110 yards and three scores while adding 35 catches on 43 targets for 196 yards and two touchdowns. The fourth-year player started the year strong with four touchdowns in his first three games. Allen's effectiveness, particularly as a rusher, was always underwhelming as he never averaged more than 4.3 YPC in any game where he got multiple attempts. The team's late-season acquisition of Ty Montgomery, in addition to its activation of Kenneth Dixon off IR, effectively squeezed Allen out of the offense entirely. Allen was a healthy scratch the last two games and appears unlikely to be re-signed by the Baltimore Ravens when he hits unrestricted free agency at season's end.
