Eight Falcons probable for Sunday game against Browns

The Atlanta Falcons are all but perfectly healthy for their Sunday game against visiting Cleveland. Cornerback Robert Alford (wrist) and offensive tackle Jonathan Scott (hamstring) are out, but the other eight players on their injury report are probable. That group includes guard Jon Asamoah (shoulder), defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux (knee), wide receivers Drew Davis (foot), Harry Douglas (foot), Julio Jones (illness) and Devin Hester (wrist) and running backs Steven Jackson (illness) and Patrick DiMarco (illness).

Falcons put Drew Davis on training camp PUP list

The Atlanta Falcons put receiver Drew Davis on the physically unable to perform list for training camp. "Drew felt some discomfort in his foot at the end of minicamp," coach Mike Smith told the team's website. "We decided to send him to the doctors for some evaluations and it was determined he had suffered an injury that would require a procedure. He recently had the procedure done and we expect him to miss around six weeks, which is why we have decided to place him on Training Camp PUP." Davis caught 12 passes for 216 yards and two touchdowns last year while playing a key special teams role.

Drew Davis goes for 70 yards

Serving as the Atlanta Falcons' No. 3 receiver in place of the injured Darius Johnson, Drew Davis caught all three of his targets for 70 yards in the Week 16 loss. Davis displayed a nifty spin move on his 59-yard catch-and-run, a career long. Davis plays Carolina in Week 17.

    Drew Davis contributes rare touchdown

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drew Davis was targeted only once Week 14 at Green Bay, but he made it count, taking a short pass over the middle 36 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter. It was his second touchdown of the season and the third of his career. Davis -- who saw his playing time increase in Weeks 7-9, when Roddy White was sidelined by a hamstring injury -- now has exactly two catches in five game since.

Drew Davis can't follow up big game

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drew Davis, who broke out with five catches for 77 yards and a touchdown in Roddy White's absence last week, wasn't nearly as productive with White still out Week 9 at Carolina. He was targeted twice by quarterback Matt Ryan, catching one pass for 2 yards. White returned to practice Friday and could be ready to return Week 10 against the Seahawks

Drew Davis' production depends on Roddy White's health

With five catches for 77 yards and a touchdown Week 8 at Arizona, wide receiver Drew Davis emerged as the clear No. 2 behind Harry Douglas in the Atlanta Falcons' remade receiving corps, which could mean big things for him in Fantasy as long as that receiving corps remains depleted by injuries. But with Roddy White working his way back from hamstring and ankle problems, that may not be the case Week 9 at Carolina. And even if it is, the matchup won't be as kind this time around. The Panthers rank ninth against the pass, surrendering 222.1 yards per game, and have given up just six touchdowns through the air all season. They've allowed the fifth-fewest Fantasy points per game to wide receivers. In a week with six teams on bye, you could do worse than Drew as a stopgap off the waiver wire, but understand that he might have a hard time repeating last week's numbers, particularly if White returns.
