Tyler Lockett: Let go by Seattle
The Seahawks released Tyler Lockett on Wednesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.Lockett, one of the most productive wideouts in franchise history would have carried a substantial cap hit of $17 million had he remained with the team for the 2025 season, so the writing had been on the wall for Seattle to part ways with him this offseason. Though he played in all 17 of Seattle's games in 2024, Lockett took a big step back statistically and finished with a 49-600-2 receiving line on 72 targets, operating as the clear No. 3 wideout behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba and DK Metcalf. Still a capable ancillary contributor, Lockett should draw a fair amount of interest on the free-agent market, though any potential fantasy value for the upcoming season will rely heavily on the target competition of his ultimate landing spot.

Seahawks' Tyler Lockett: Uncertain standing for 2025
Tyler Lockett is unlikely to remain with the Seattle Seahawks without taking a pay cut, ESPN's Dan Graziano reports.Lockett is one of the team's veteran leaders and ranks second in franchise history with 8,594 receiving yards, but his receiving volume fell off a cliff in 2024 -- 4.4 targets per game in an offense that provided 8.1 for Jaxon Smith-Njigba and 7.2 for DK Metcalf. The 32-year-old is scheduled for $17 million in 2025 compensation, including a non-guaranteed $5.3 million roster bonus due March 16. Lockett presumably will be released before that date unless he accepts a pay cut, or else an extension that drastically reduces his compensation and doesn't include any/many guarantees beyond 2025.

Seahawks' Tyler Lockett: Targeted four times in Week 18
Tyler Lockett caught two of four targets for 28 yards in Sunday's 30-25 win over the Rams. The veteran wideout finished the 2024 campaign with 49 catches for 600 yards two touchdowns, his lowest totals in each category since 2017. The emergence of second-year wideout Jaxon Smith-Njiba resulted in Lockett moving into a tertiary role in the passing game, with Smith-Njiba and DK Metcalf being the clear top targets for quarterback Geno Smith. Lockett will enter the final year of his contract in 2025, and with both Smith-Njigba and Metcalf on the books as well, Lockett is unlikely to see his role grow next season.

Seahawks' Tyler Lockett: Musters up 20 yards
Tyler Lockett caught three of four targets for 20 yards in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Bears.Geno Smith threw for a season-low 160 yards in the tight win while Lockett failed to produce more than 22 receiving yards for the seventh straight game. DK Metcalf and Jaxon Smith-Njigba are the focal points of this passing offense, so Lockett's upside will remain limited even in a favorable Week 18 matchup against the Rams.

Seahawks' Tyler Lockett: Two catches in loss
Tyler Lockett caught both of his targets for 19 yards in Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Vikings.Though Geno Smith attempted 43 passes on the day, Lockett didn't attract much of the quarterback's attention, as Jaxon Smith-Njigba (12) and DK Metcalf (seven) dominated the targets. With Smith-Njigba becoming a much bigger part of the offense in recent weeks, the 32-year-old Lockett has been mostly an afterthought in Seattle's aerial attack. Since the Seattle Seahawks' Week 10 bye, the veteran has recorded just 96 receiving yards over six games.

Seahawks' Tyler Lockett: Snares 22-yard pass
Tyler Lockett caught his lone target for 22 yards in Sunday's 30-13 loss to the Packers.Since the Seattle Seahawks' Week 10 bye, Lockett has averaged just 15.4 receiving yards per game while failing to find the end zone. Meanwhile, second-year wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba has been a target hog, tallying a team-high 12 targets in Week 15. It will be tough to depend on Lockett for fantasy purposes moving forward.

Seahawks' Tyler Lockett: No catches in win
Tyler Lockett couldn't haul in his only target in Sunday's 30-18 win over the Cardinals.Lockett couldn't haul in an end-zone target, as Cardinals' rookie CB Max Melton blanketed the veteran receiver. Since Week 7, Lockett has produced more than 20 receiving yards just once while Jaxon Smith-Njigba and DK Metcalf received a bulk of the targets. It will be difficult to trust Lockett in fantasy moving forward.

Seahawks' Tyler Lockett: Stays quiet in win over Jets
Tyler Lockett (knee) caught all three of his targets for 16 yards in Sunday's 26-21 win over the Jets.Lockett continues to be outplayed by a significant margin by both Jaxon Smith-Njigba and DK Metcalf, who combined for 140 receiving yards against the Jets. The 32-year-old Lockett seems to have lost a step, with 20 or fewer receiving yards in four of his last five games. He'll be tough to trust in a Week 14 rematch against the Cardinals, who just limited Lockett to 20 yards in Week 12.

Seahawks' Tyler Lockett: No injury designation
Tyler Lockett (knee) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game at the Jets, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.Neither does DK Metcalf, who also didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday. It seems the Seattle Seahawks were just being cautious with their veteran wide receivers, both of whom are set to play come Sunday.

Seahawks' Tyler Lockett: Another DNP on Thursday
Tyler Lockett (knee) was listed as a non-participant on Thursday's practice report, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports. The Seattle Seahawks may be taking a cautious approach with two of their top wide receivers, but neither Lockett nor DK Metcalf (shoulder) have logged any on-field work this week, leaving just one more opportunity to do so ahead of the weekend. Friday's session likely will be key for Lockett's chances to be active Sunday at the Jets.
