Dolphins claim WR Kevin Cone off waivers
The Miami Dolphins put in a claim on and were rewarded wide receiver Kevin Cone off waivers, the team announced on Tuesday. Cone was placed on waivers by the Cleveland Browns on Monday. To make room for Cone, Miami waived guard Dionte Savage. Cone has been in the league since 2011 and made one catch for 12 yards in that timeframe.

Browns sign Timothy Flanders, Jalen Parmele
The Cleveland Browns signed running backs Timothy Flanders and Jalen Parmele on Monday after suffering a rash of injuries at the position. Flanders spent time with New Orleans last year. Dolphins announce final cuts to get down to 53
The Miami Dolphins have completed their series of cuts to pare down their roster to the league-mandated 53 heading into the regular season. The dispatched offensive players are quarterback Seth Lobato, linemen Tony Hills, David Arkin, Sam Brenner and Evan Finkenberg , wideouts Kevin Cone and Matt Hazel, running backs Marcus Thigpen and Daniel Thomas and tight end Evan Wilson . Among the defensive players let go are linemen Isaako Aaitui, Garrison Smith, Tevin Mims and D'Aundre Reed, linebacker Andrew Wilson and defensive backs Jordan Kovacs and Kevin Fogg. Placekicker Jake Rogers has also been waived. The Dolphins have also placed defensive tackle on IR and defensive end Dion Jordan and safety Reshad Jones on the reserve/suspended list.

Falcons get offensive contributions
The Atlanta Falcons got several minor offensive contributions in their Week 5 loss to the Jets. Running back Antone Smith had an 8-yard run, and fullback Patrick DiMarco and receiver Kevin Cone each caught a 12-yard pass. Safety Shann Schillinger completed a desperation pass following a blocked punt, but it went for minus-8 yards.

Cone lands in injured reserve
The Falcons placed wide receiver Kevin Cone on injured reserve Monday, ending his season. Atlanta added offensive lineman Joe Hawley to the roster after he returned to practice last week following a four-game suspension for violating the leagues substance abuse policy.
