Will Johnson (neck) is expected to be released but could return to the team on a veteran's minimum deal, NJ.com's Dan Duggan reports.Duggan notes that the New York Giants' signing of Rhett Ellison when free agency opened Thursday signaled that Johnson would likely be released after playing out one year of a two-year, $2.3 million contract. That said, it does appear that a return on a minimum contract could be in the cards for Johnson. The 28-year-old hybrid back had six total touches for 23 yards and a touchdown last season.

Will Johnson (neck) is back in the weight room and nearing a full recovery, 247Sports.com reports.After signing a two-year deal with the New York Giants last summer, Johnson landed on injured reserve before the 2016 season started due to a neck injury. He's now back in the weight room and appears fully recovered, as evidenced by Johnson's Instagram video from Thursday of himself deadlifting 300 pounds three times in a row. Given his progress to date, the West Virginia product should be good to go for OTAs come April.

Report: Fullback Will Johnson re-signs with Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers and fullback Will Johnson have reportedly agreed to terms, bringing the veteran back for his fourth season with the club, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Caplan. Johnson, who was a restricted free agent, has played 47 of a possible 48 games in his career, totaling four carries for seven yards and 29 catches for 219 yards and two touchdowns.
