Patriots' Damaris Johnson: Inactive in Week 14

Patriots' Damaris Johnson: Sees light workload Sunday

Damaris Johnson was on the field for just three of the New England Patriots' 89 snaps on offense in Sunday's 35-28 loss to the Eagles, ESPN's Mike Reiss reports.Johnson, who carried once for six yards in the game, could see a bigger role down the road, but for now he's getting up to speed with the Patriots' offense after joining the team last week.

    Damaris Johnson: Signs with Patriots

Damaris Johnson signed with the Patriots on Tuesday, ESPN Boston's Mike Reiss reports.A 2012 UDFA, Johnson has spent time with the Eagles (2012 and 2013) and Texans (2014), catching 52 passes for 601 yards and a touchdown on 83 targets. He could provide help in the slot and/or the return game, but his role will largely depend on the health of New England's other receivers. Should Danny Amendola (knee) miss another week, Johnson might have a surprisingly large role in the offense. However, it's hard to imagine Johnson making much of an impact if Amendola is able to play against the Eagles.
