Giants' Cooper Taylor: Out until training camp
Cooper Taylor has undergone sports hernia surgery and will be sidelined until training camp, NJ.com reports.Taylor was working with the New York Giants' first-team defense at free safety earlier this spring, but will now be sidelined after his latest surgery. Typically, sports hernia surgery requires 4-to-6 weeks of recovery time, and the Giants open training camp in five weeks. That puts Taylor on the fringe of being ready once camp starts, but until then, teammates Nat Berhe, Bennett Jackson and rookie third-rounder Darian Thompson figure to benefit from extra practice reps.

10 Giants sit out dress rehearsal game vs. Jets
According to ESPN, the following players are not expected to dress for the New York Giants Friday night against the Jets: Odell Beckham, Prince Amukamara, Charles Brown, Jayron Hosley, Trindon Holliday, James Brewer, Peyton Hillis, Xavier Grimble, Jon Beason and Cooper Taylor.

"That is most unfortunate for the young man," Coughlin said.Taylor's injury relates to the sesamoid bone in his toe.

Five Giants ruled out Week 17
New York Giants WR Victor Cruz, S Cooper Taylor, OL Brandon Mosley, DE Jason Pierre-Paul and TE Adrien Robinson have been ruled out Week 17. All five of the players have not participated in practice throughout the week. Cruz had surgery on his knee, so his status shouldn't come as a surprise.
