Wes Hills: Heads to waivers
Wes Hills was waived by the Lions on Saturday.Following a slew of injuries to the Lions' backfield, Hills was promoted from the practice squad in 2019 and was active for Week 15's matchup versus the Buccaneers. He ended up rushing 10 times for 21 yards and two touchdowns, and he caught both targets for one yard. He could land back on the practice squad as insurance in case another injury bug lands in Detroit.

Lions' Wes Hills: Back in Detroit
The Detroit Lions re-signed Wes Hills on Thursday, Chris Burke of The Athletic reports.Hills was waived by the Lions on Monday, but he now rejoins the team after just a handful of days. He drew one start for Detroit in 2019 due to a litany of injuries at the running back position, the only contest for which he was active. He'll now compete for a similar reserve role.

Wes Hills: Waived by Lions
Wes Hills was waived by the Lions on Monday, Benjamin Raven of MLive.com reports.Hills had a short-lived moment of fantasy relevance last fall when numerous injuries to the Lions backfield allowed him to earn a starting nod Week 15. However, he was a healthy scratch in every other 2019 contest, and the Slippery Rock product is now being let go in order for Detroit to sign ex-Colts running back Jonathan Williams.

Lions' Wes Hills: Ends season as healthy scratch
Wes Hills (coach's decision) was not active for Sunday's 23-20 loss to Green Bay.Hills wasn't needed with Kerryon Johnson and Bo Scarbrough healthy and he thus took a seat for the third consecutive game. However, it's still been a relatively successful year considering his spot start in Week 15 was Hills' first career appearance in a regular-season game since going undrafted in 2017. In that outing, Hills rushed 10 times for 21 yards and two touchdowns while catching one of two passes for a single yard. The Slippery Rock product will now be an exclusive-rights free agent at the end of the league year.

Lions' Wes Hills: Healthy scratch Sunday
Wes Hills (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Broncos,.Hills made his NFL debut in Week 15 against the Buccaneers, rushing 10 times for 21 yards and two scores. The pair of touchdowns made it a productive debut, but he was inefficient on a per-touch basis overall. With Kerryon Johnson (knee) back in the lineup, Hills' services won't be needed against the Broncos.

Lions' Wes Hills: Scores pair of TDs in debut
Wes Hills, promoted from the practice squad Saturday, rushed 10 times for 21 yards and two touchdowns and brought in both his targets for one yard in the Detroit Lions' 38-17 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday. With Bo Scarbrough (ribs) inactive, Hills ended up pacing the Lions' backfield in carries and rushing yards. Although that lead role didn't actually equate to any useful yardage from a fantasy perspective, the 24-year-old cashed in with a pair of one-yard scoring runs on which he showed off the power his 218-pound frame can produce in close quarters. If Scarbrough is ready to return for a Week 15 matchup against the Broncos, Sunday may have been Hills' proverbial moment in the sun for 2019, but it's also possible the Slippery Rock product continues to hold down a spot on the active roster for evaluation purposes over the final pair of games.

Lions' Wes Hills: Taking first-team reps in warmups
Wes Hills was spotted taking reps with the Detroit Lions' first-team offense in warmups prior to Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, Justin Rogers of The Detroit News reports.Warmups aren't always indicative of how teams plan to proceed once kickoff arrives, but Hills' inclusion with the starters suggests he'll likely have some sort of role Sunday with top back Bo Scarbrough (ribs) sidelined. With Ty Johnson and J.D. McKissic having largely unimpressed in their opportunities as ballcarriers this season, coach Matt Patricia could give Hills the first chance to spark the ground attack Sunday. Given that the practice squad callup has yet to make his NFL debut, he won't make for much more than a dart throw in fantasy playoff matchups or DFS contests.
