Dolphins' Raheem Mostert: Outplayed by Achane in Week 9
Raheem Mostert rushed 10 times for 56 yards, caught both of his targets for 32 yards and lost a fumble in Sunday's 30-27 loss to the Bills.Mostert touched the ball on Miami's first three plays of the second half, and while he compiled 30 scrimmage yards during that stretch, it ended on a sour note when he lost a fumble. He finished with 12 touches compared to 20 for De'Von Achane, who compiled 121 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns. Mostert had a two-touchdown performance of his own in Week 8 against Arizona, but Achane has the higher floor in Miami's productive backfield heading into Week 10 against the Rams.

Dolphins' Raheem Mostert: Scores twice in Week 8 loss
Raheem Mostert rushed nine times for 19 yards and two touchdowns while catching one of two targets for 11 yards in Sunday's 28-27 loss to the Cardinals.Mostert helped the Miami Dolphins welcome back starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) by capping Miami's opening drive with a one-yard touchdown run. The veteran running back added a six-yard rushing score in the fourth quarter, but he was otherwise outperformed on the ground by De'Von Achane, who had 10 carries for 97 rushing yards and a receiving touchdown. Achane is usually the favorite to lead Miami's backfield in touches and yards, but Mostert's success by the goal line is nothing new, as he produced a league-best 18 rushing touchdowns in 2023. Both Dolphins running backs will be in fantasy starter consideration in Week 9 against a Bills defense that has been better against the pass than the run.

Dolphins' Raheem Mostert: Churns out 50 yards Sunday
Raheem Mostert carried the ball 11 times for 50 yards in Sunday's 16-10 loss to the Colts.De'Von Achane led the Miami backfield with 15 totes for 77 yards, but Mostert found some success as well, even with the Colts' defense having little to worry about through the air. The Miami Dolphins could lean even more heavily on their backfield in Week 8 against the Cardinals -- Tyler Huntley (shoulder) left Sunday's game in the third quarter, joining Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) and Skylar Thompson (ribs) on the sideline. If none of those QBs are ready to go next week, 30-year-old career backup Tim Boyle would get the start.

Dolphins' Raheem Mostert: Impressive numbers in return
Raheem Mostert rushed 19 times for 80 yards and brought in both targets for 18 yards in the Miami Dolphins' 15-10 win over the Patriots on Sunday.Mostert, making his return from a three-game absence due to a chest injury, wasn't expected to walk back into a full workload, but De'Von Achane's first-half exit due to a concussion scuttled those plans. The veteran responded in impressive fashion, consistently grinding out solid gains while splitting work with rookie Jaylen Wright, who stood out with a 13-86 line on the ground. Achane should have plenty of time to clear concussion protocol during the Week 6 bye, but Mostert should have a complementary role at minimum in a Week 7 road battle against the Colts on Sunday, Oct. 20.

Dolphins' Raheem Mostert: Set to return Sunday
Raheem Mostert (chest) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game in New England, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.Mostert hasn't played since Week 1 due to a chest injury, which has sidelined him the last three contests. He was able to return to practice as of Sept. 18, but he also was listed as limited on every Miami Dolphins injury report in the meantime until Friday, when he finally logged a full practice. Coach Mike McDaniel told Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald on Friday that the team is "going to modify how much he plays in general" if he's able to suit up Sunday. As a result, Mostert likely will be operating with a cap on his reps this weekend and perhaps until McDaniel feels he can handle a normal workload. Expect Mostert to play second fiddle to De'Von Achane out of Miami's backfield for the time being.

Dolphins' Raheem Mostert: Could play Sunday, practice pending
Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said Friday that Raheem Mostert (chest) could suit up Sunday versus New England on modified reps, depending on how much he's able to do in practice Friday, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.Mostert has practiced in a limited capacity since his return to on-field activities Sept. 18, so it sounds like the veteran running back may need to handle a full session Friday in order to be cleared for Week 5. Even if given the green light to play in New England, though, it sounds like Mostert would remain on a snap count. McDaniel said the same for wide receiver Odell Beckham (knee), who resumed practicing Wednesday but has yet to be fully activated from the reserve/PUP list.

Dolphins' Raheem Mostert: Remains limited at practice
Raheem Mostert (chest) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.Mostert was also limited last week, but ended up inactive for Monday's loss to the Titans and has now missed three straight games. The running back has two more chances to increase his practice participation level in advance of Sunday's game at New England. If Mostert remains sidelined this weekend against the Patriots, De'Von Achane would continue to lead Miami's backfield.

Raheem Mostert (chest) isn't expected to play Monday night against the Titans, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.Mostert is listed as questionable for the contest, but if he is indeed unavailable versus Tennessee, De'Von Achane, Jeff Wilson and Jaylen Wright would be in line to handle Miami's backfield duties.
