Tyler Murphy was promoted from the practice squad Saturday.Murphy was brought up in the likely event that Ben Roethlisberger is unable to return from his knee injury to play Sunday against the Chiefs, with Landry Jones getting the start after Michael Vick was ruled out with a hamstring injury. Murphy, who isn't likely to see the field if Jones avoids an injury, played quarterback at Florida and Boston College during his collegiate years, but after going undrafted he signed as a free agent with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who were trying to develop him into a wide receiver.
