Seahawks' Drew Lock: Delivers in emergency duty

Drew Lock took over for Sam Darnold (hip) with 7:29 remaining in the first quarter of Wednesday's 13-10 win over the Patriots and completed 16 of 22 passes for 187 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions while adding two rushes for 13 yards.Lock unsurprisingly took some time to get going, with his first six possessions netting just 95 total yards and zero points. However, the veteran signal-caller finally got into a rhythm late in the third quarter and led Seattle to its 13 points, the final 10 coming after Drake Maye's first two interceptions. Lock also picked up his connection with Jaxon Smith-Njigba in the second half, hitting the star wideout for a 45-yard touchdown that knotted the game at 10 early in the fourth quarter. While Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports that head coach Mike Macdonald confirmed a fracture has been ruled out for Darnold, it's still possible Lock is under center for a Week 2 road matchup against the Cardinals on Sunday, Sept. 20.

Seahawks' Drew Lock: Remains No. 2 with Darnold active

Both Darnold and coach Mike Macdonald remained confident that the quarterback would be able to suit up, but in the meantime Lock was getting the first-team reps, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. Seahawks' Drew Lock: On hand if Darnold cannot play

The Seattle Seahawks expect that Sam Darnold (oblique) will start in Saturday's NFC divisional-round tilt against the 49ers, but Drew Lock has been taking reps with the first-team offense the last two days and would be ready to play if the former were to be sidelined, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.Darnold has not thrown a football since undergoing treatment for an oblique injury during Thursday's practice. Head coach Mike Macdonald expressed optimism Friday that Darnold would be available for Saturday's game, per Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic. That said, Lock -- who has not started in a game since Week 18 of the 2024 season as a member of the Giants -- would take the helm if Darnold were to be ruled out or injured during the contest.

Seahawks' Drew Lock: One TD, one INT in preseason start

He added three rushing attempts for four yards.Lock got the start Thursday and played the entire first half with Seattle resting new starting quarterback Sam Darnold. The veteran backup bounced back from an interception on the opening drive to lead a touchdown drive on the next possession. Lock added a 10-yard touchdown pass to Tory Horton in the second quarter. Rookie third-round pick Jalen Milroe played the entire second half but finished with only 61 passing yards. Giants' Drew Lock: Struggles in Week 18 loss

Drew Lock completed 22 of 29 passes for 138 yards and a touchdown with an interception in Sunday's 20-13 loss to the Eagles. He added three rushing yards on two carries.Even against a Philly defense resting multiple starters ahead of the playoffs, Lock couldn't get much going, although he did connect with Malik Nabers for a 45-yard TD in the fourth quarter as the New York Giants tried to mount a comeback from a 17-3 deficit. The Giants ended the regular season in line to pick third overall in the 2025 Draft, putting them in position to potentially select a new franchise quarterback, but even if they don't, Lock seems unlikely to return to New York in free agency. The 28-year-old completed 59.1 percent of his passes for 1,071 yards and a 6:5 TD:INT over eight appearances in 2024.
