49ers' Nick Bosa: Could return after Week 8 bye

Head coach Kyle Shanahan indicated Monday that Nick Bosa (knee) "has a chance" to return following the San Francisco 49ers' Week 8 bye, David Lombardi of SFStandard.com reports.A lingering knee injury has sidelined Bosa for each of the 49ers' last five games. He has yet to return to practice, but with San Francisco on extra rest thanks to the bye, the veteran pass rusher could be available for Week 9 against Las Vegas on Sunday, Nov. 8. Bosa's return would mean less rotational defensive snaps available for Romello Height, Mykel Williams, Ogbo Okoronkwo and Khalid Kareem.

49ers' Nick Bosa: Won't play Sunday

Nick Bosa (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Falcons.Coach Kyle Shanahan stated that Bosa was "a little too optimistic" with his statement that he would be back before the bye, David Lombardi of SFStandard.com reported Friday. The defensive end's chances to play were also diminished because Sunday's game in Atlanta is played on artificial turf. Bosa will continue to recover in anticipation of the San Francisco 49ers' Week 9 matchup with the Raiders.

    49ers' Nick Bosa: DNP Wednesday

Nick Bosa (calf) Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com in Wednesday's practice.Bosa remains sidelined with a calf injury he suffered during the San Francisco 49ers' Week 2 win over the Dolphins. Coach Kyle Shanahan hopes Bosa will practice Thursday, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports. Shanahan's statement makes it seem like Bosa has an outside chance to play in Sunday's contest against the Falcons. If the defensive end cannot, he will have to wait until after the 49ers' Week 8 bye to return to the field.

49ers' Nick Bosa: Not yet ready to return to game action

Nick Bosa (knee/calf) has been ruled out for Monday's Week 6 matchup against the Commanders, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.Though the decision was made not to put Bosa on IR, he's now set to miss his fourth straight game. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said early this week that the veteran edge rusher could have a chance to play against Washington, but Bosa didn't end up practicing at all. While it's not out of the question that he could return Week 7 in Atlanta, it wouldn't be surprising if San Francisco opts to hold Bosa out for that contest as well given that the San Francisco 49ers have a bye Week 8.

49ers' Nick Bosa: Doesn't practice Thursday

Nick Bosa (knee/calf) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.Despite having an extra day of rest between Week 5 action and the start of Week 6 prep, Bosa has yet to mix into drills since Week 2, missing the last three games in the process due to knee and calf injuries. If he isn't able to practice Friday and/or Saturday, he likely isn't a candidate to suit up Monday against the Commanders.

49ers' Nick Bosa: Ruled out for Week 4

Coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that Nick Bosa (calf) won't play this coming Sunday against the Broncos, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. After Bosa strained his calf at practice last Thursday, Shanahan told Matt Barrows of The Athletic that the pass rusher would miss "a few weeks," so a second consecutive absence in Week 4 comes as no surprise.
