Jaguars' Mac Jones: Decent showing against Raiders
Mac Jones completed 25 of 39 passes for 247 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 19-14 loss to the Raiders. The Jacksonville Jaguars haven't been afraid to take to the air with Jones under center, as he's now attempted 46 and 39 passes in the last two weeks. His stat line was driven by that volume rather than efficiency, illustrated by averaging just 6.3 yards per attempt despite connecting with Brian Thomas for a 62-yard score late in the third quarter. The biggest positive for the day was Jones' ball security, marking only the second time he did not turn the ball over in six games as Jacksonville's starter.

Jaguars' Mac Jones: Two TDs, two INTs in Week 15 loss
Mac Jones completed 31 of 46 passes for 294 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in Sunday's 32-25 loss to the Jets.Jones threw a three-yard touchdown pass to Brian Thomas on the opening drive, taking advantage of a drive-extending holding penalty on Sauce Gardner. Jacksonville's next possession ended in an interception, but Jones subsequently led the Jacksonville Jaguars to two field goals to take a 13-7 lead into the locker room. The Jets eventually inched ahead 17-16 before Jones responded with a 19-yard touchdown pass to Thomas with 10:58 to go in the fourth quarter. Jacksonville answered another Jets go-ahead score with a game-tying field goal, but after the Jets took the lead again, Gardner got the last laugh with a game-sealing interception of Jones in the final minute. This was an encouraging outing for Jones, who set a season high for passing yards and doubled his season touchdown-pass total heading into a Week 16 road game against the Raiders, which will have significant implications for the 2025 NFL Draft order.

Jaguars' Mac Jones: Two picks in win
Mac Jones completed 23 of 31 passes for 220 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions in Sunday's 10-6 win over the Titans.Jones connected with Brian Thomas on long passes of 21 and 31 yards early in the third quarter to set up the lone touchdown of the game. Those were the highlights of an otherwise unremarkable performance, as he turned the ball over with a bad interception early in the opening quarter when he overthrew Thomas and otherwise struggled to move the offense. Positively, the Jacksonville Jaguars managed to end their five-game losing streak, and Jones will lead the offense once again heading into a Week 15 matchup against the Jets.

Jaguars' Mac Jones: Set up for more starts
Mac Jones appears on track to step in as the Jacksonville Jaguars' starting quarterback beginning with Sunday's game at Tennessee after Jacksonville placed Trevor Lawrence (concussion) on injured reserve Wednesday.Lawrence technically could return from injured reserve in Week 18, but it's probably not a consideration, as there had been discussion of him undergoing surgery on his left shoulder before he suffered a concussion during Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Texans. Jones played well in relief of Lawrence on Sunday, after struggling mightily in previous two games when Lawrence was inactive and Jones was the starter. The Jaguars could eventually turn to CJ Beathard but will likely stick with Jones for at least the Week 14 contest. Over his two starts and three appearances off the bench this season, Jones has completed 57 of 92 pass attempts (62 percent) for 512 yards (5.6 YPA), two touchdowns and three interceptions while carrying 10 times for 21 yards and a touchdown and losing two fumbles.

Jaguars' Mac Jones: Impressive in emergency duty
Mac Jones replaced Trevor Lawrence (concussion) with 3:57 remaining in the second quarter of the Jacksonville Jaguars' 23-20 loss to the Texans on Sunday and completed 20 of 32 passes for 235 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. He also rushed three times for six yards, recovered a fumble and threw a two-point conversion pass.Jones got off to a slow start reminiscent of his lackluster two-game starting stint in Weeks 10 and 11, but he built momentum over the course of the second half and nearly rallied the Jaguars via a pair of fourth-quarter scoring tosses to Parker Washington (22 yards) and Brian Thomas (six yards). Jones seemingly is slated for at least one more start at the very minimum in a Week 14 road matchup against the Titans, and given the state of Jacksonville's season and Lawrence's value to the franchise, the former could well remain under center for what remains of the campaign.

Jaguars' Mac Jones: Returning to backup role
Mac Jones will serve as the Jacksonville Jaguars' backup quarterback in Sunday's game against the Texans with Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) having been cleared to start after missing the previous two contests, Demetrius Harvey of the Florida Times-Union reports. While Lawrence could still require offseason surgery to address an AC joint sprain in his non-throwing shoulder, the quarterback looks on track to play through the issue over the final six games of the season after he responded well during a trio of limited practices this week. Jones had filled in for Lawrence as Jacksonville's starter in the two games prior to the team's Week 12 bye, completing 31 of 51 pass attempts (60.8 percent) for 249 yards (4.9 YPA), no touchdowns and three interceptions in losses to the Vikings and Lions. Despite the pair of poor showings, Jones will at least retain the No. 2 job ahead of C.J. Beathard, who is inactive for the Week 13 contest.

Jaguars' Mac Jones: Another forgettable spot start
Mac Jones completed 17 of 29 passes for 138 yards with no touchdowns and one interception while adding two rushes for seven yards in the Jacksonville Jaguars' 52-6 loss to the Lions on Sunday.Making his second straight spot start for Trevor Lawrence (shoulder), Jones was essentially as ineffective as he had been in Week 10 against the Vikings, with the exception being he threw one fewer interception. Otherwise, the 2021 first-round pick was completely incapable of helping the Jaguars keep up with a juggernaut of a Lions offense that failed to score only on a meaningless end-of-game drive. Jones unsurprisingly focused most of his attention on Brian Thomas and Evan Engram, but he figures to revert to a backup role for a Week 13 home matchup against the Texans on Sunday, Dec. 1 since Lawrence will likely have enough time to get healthy over the Week 12 bye.

Jaguars' Mac Jones: Starting for Lawrence again Sunday
Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said Mac Jones will start Sunday's game against the Lions in Detroit, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. With Pederson ruling Trevor Lawrence out for a second straight game, Jones will get another opportunity to direct the offense, despite struggling to lead productive drives in his first extended action with the Jaguars in Week 10. Jones completed 14 of 22 passes for 111 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions in last Sunday's 12-7 loss to the Vikings, committing three turnovers in total after also losing a fumble. The matchup with a Lions defense that hasn't been as strong against the pass (6.5 yards per attempt allowed) or in generating pressure (24 sacks in nine games) as Minnesota is a slightly more favorable one for Jones, but he still profiles as a low-end fantasy option, given his lack of rushing ability and the relatively muted passing production he's shown over his 43 career starts between New England and Jacksonville. Per Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union, Pederson said Tuesday that he has optimism Lawrence will be able to return following the Jaguars' Week 12 bye, so Jones' run as a starter could come to an end after Sunday.

Jaguars' Mac Jones: Abysmal showing in loss
Mac Jones completed 14 of 22 passes for 111 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions in Sunday's 12-7 loss to the Vikings. He added five rushes for eight yards and a touchdown.Jones drew his first start with the Jacksonville Jaguars due to Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) being sidelined. He got off to a strong start, as Jones went 4-for-4 for 48 yards while sneaking into the end zone for a touchdown on Jacksonville's opening possession. However, things went downhill thereafter, and the QB threw an interception that concluded the team's final chance to win the game late in the fourth quarter. Lawrence practiced in a limited capacity throughout the week, meaning he could return for a Week 11 matchup against the Lions, which would return Jones to the bench.

Jaguars' Mac Jones: Slated for Week 10 start
Mac Jones will start Sunday's game against the Vikings due to Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) being listed as questionable but slated to be inactive for the contest, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.Even though Lawrence was listed as a limited practice participant Wednesday through Friday, Pelissero notes that Jones took all the first-team reps and will be in line for his first extended action of the season with Jacksonville, as his prior two appearances had come at the tail end of blowout losses. Jones -- who previously started 42 games with the Patriots over the past three seasons -- could be headed for additional starts beyond Sunday, with Ian Rapoport of NFL Network noting that Lawrence is dealing with a significant AC joint sprain to his non-throwing shoulder that likely puts him in the week-to-week rather than the day-to-day category. While surgery is considered a possibility for Lawrence, the Jacksonville Jaguars' plan for the time being is to have him treat the injury through rest and rehab. The Jaguars play the Lions in Week 11 before going on bye Week 12, so it may make sense for the team to have Jones start in place of Lawrence for the next two games before reassessing its quarterback situation following the bye week.
