Jake Fromm: Let go on cut-down day
Detroit waived Jake Fromm on Tuesday.Fromm was a fifth-round draft pick by Buffalo in 2020 and got into three regular-season games with the Giants in 2021. Giants' Jake Fromm: Another poor showing in finale
Jake Fromm completed 15 of 31 passes for 103 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions in the New York Giants' 22-7 loss to Washington on Sunday. He also rushed five times for 53 yards and lost a fumble. The young signal-caller was better than the last time he'd drawn a start Week 16, when he threw for all of 25 yards on a 35.3 percent completion rate before getting the hook. However, with Mike Glennon (wrist) unavailable Sunday, Fromm went the distance and did manage to throw his first career touchdown pass, a 22-yarder to Darius Slayton early in the fourth quarter. Given the forgettable results he generated in his few opportunities this season, it remains to be seen if the 2020 fifth-round pick of the Bills has any type of 2022 opportunity awaiting in New York.
