Deon Jackson: Doesn't get roster spot
Deon Jackson was waived by the Jets on Tuesday, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports.Jackson opened last season as the Colts' Week 1 starting running back while Jonathan Taylor was on the PUP list. However, he struggled with only 14 yards on 13 carries in the opener and was cut less than two weeks later. Jackson subsequently found work with the Browns and Giants, then signed a contract with the Jets this August. However, he won't be on the team's 53-man roster after gaining just 18 yards on eight carries during the preseason.
