Browns' Jerome Ford: Three touches in return
Jerome Ford gained five yards on two carries and caught one of three targets for two yards in Sunday's 27-10 loss to the Chargers. The Chargers' defense came as advertised and shut down all aspects of Cleveland's offense. Ford, who was returning from a two-game absence due to a hamstring injury, couldn't find any more room to run than starter Nick Chubb (15 carries, 39 yards). With the Cleveland Browns down by three scores at halftime, Ford wound up as the backfield leader in playing time (36 snaps). The loss was another in a disappointing season for Cleveland, and the team figure to be sellers at the NFL trade deadline Tuesday, having already shipped out Amari Cooper (wrist). That could mean Chubb is on the block, as he's coming back from a serious knee injury and is in the final year of his contract. If the team moves on from Chubb, then Ford would be in line to start for the rest of the season.

Browns' Jerome Ford: Set for first action since Week 6
Jerome Ford (hamstring) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Chargers, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.Ford upgraded to full practice participation Friday after a pair of limited sessions, paving the way for him to return from a two-game absence. He was the top option in Cleveland's backfield while Nick Chubb worked his way back from a knee injury to begin the season, but Ford will likely work in a change-of-pace role behind a healthy Chubb moving forward.

Browns' Jerome Ford: Another limited practice
Jerome Ford (hamstring) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.Ford has missed two straight games, but his limited participation in practices last Friday and to kick off Week 9 prep suggest that he has a chance to suit up this weekend against the Chargers. That said, with Nick Chubb having reclaimed the top job in Cleveland's backfield, Ford's fantasy upside will have taken a notable hit whenever he makes his return to action.

Browns' Jerome Ford: Ruled out against Ravens
Jerome Ford (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Ravens, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.Ford will sit out a second consecutive game, but he returned to practice Friday, which was a step in the right direction. If he's able to resume practicing regularly prior to a Week 9 matchup against the Chargers, he would have a good chance to return to action Sunday, Nov. 3. Nick Chubb is Cleveland's top backfield option now that he's available, while Pierre Strong and D'Onta Foreman will back up Chubb versus Baltimore.

Browns' Jerome Ford: At Friday's practice
Jerome Ford (hamstring) was present for practice Friday, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.Ford missed practice Wednesday and Thursday, but his presence at Friday's session suggests that he has a chance to be available Sunday against the Ravens. The Cleveland Browns' upcoming injury report will clarify the running back's Week 8 status, but if Ford is active Sunday, he'd presumably be in line to work in a complementary role, now that Nick Chubb is back in Cleveland's backfield mix.

Browns' Jerome Ford: Sitting out another practice
Jerome Ford (hamstring) was a non-participant in Thursday's practice, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.Unless he's able to get back on the field in some capacity Friday, Ford will likely be ruled out for a second straight game heading into Sunday's matchup with the Ravens. Before exiting the Cleveland Browns' Week 6 loss to the Eagles with the hamstring injury, Ford had been serving as Cleveland's lead option out of the backfield, but he'll likely have to settle for a secondary role behind the now-healthy Nick Chubb once he's ready to play again.

Browns' Jerome Ford: Not practicing Wednesday
Jerome Ford (hamstring) isn't in line to practice Wednesday, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.Ford, who missed this past Sunday's loss to the Bengals, will have two more opportunities to practice ahead of this weekend's game against the Ravens. If he's available for the contest, Ford would presumably be in line to step into a complementary role in Cleveland's backfield, with Nick Chubb having returned from the PUP list to make his season debut Week 7.

Browns' Jerome Ford: Won't play against Bengals
Jerome Ford (hamstring) won't play Sunday against the Bengals, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.Ford, who didn't practice this week, will thus target a potential return to action in Week 8 against the Ravens. In his absence Sunday, some combo Nick Chubb (knee, questionable) -- who's expected to be activated from the PUP list this weekend -- D'Onta Foreman, and Pierre Strong are in line to handle Cleveland's backfield duties versus Cincinnati.

Browns' Jerome Ford: Still not practicing
Jerome Ford (hamstring) remained sidelined at Friday's practice, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.Ford has yet to practice this week, clouding his status for Sunday's game against the Bengals.
