Chargers' Scott Matlock: Getting exposure to fullback
Scott Matlock is listed as the Los Angeles Chargers' starting fullback ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Raiders, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.A 2023 sixth-round draft pick, Matlock played exclusively along the defensive line as a rookie, but first-year Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh praised the 6-foot-4, 296-pound Matlock's conditioning. Harbaugh believes Matlock has the ability to play both ways, perhaps in a way similar to how the Ravens have deployed Patrick Ricard in past seasons. Matlock played 256 defensive snaps and 94 special-teams snaps last season, registering 15 tackles.
