Texans' Jawhar Jordan: Leading rusher on 15 attempts
Jawhar Jordan handled 15 carries for 53 yards while catching all five of his targets for 17 yards in Sunday's 23-21 win over the Raiders.Nick Chubb (6-33-0) got the start in place of Woody Marks (ankle) on Sunday, but it was Jordan who paced the Houston Texans' backfield in touches and production in the win. Jordan was signed from the practice squad early in the week to help address the team's running-back situation. The 2024 sixth-round pick averaged under four yards per carry and failed to hit pay dirt, resulting in a pedestrian fantasy score. Marks was able to get in a limited practice before ultimately being ruled out for Week 16, so Jordan's run of relevance may last just one game if the former is able to suit up against the Chargers on Saturday.

Texans' Jawhar Jordan: Added to roster
The Houston Texans signed Jawhar Jordan off their practice squad Tuesday.Houston still had the ability to elevate Jordan from the practice squad on two more occasions, but the Texans evidently didn't want to risk him getting poached by another team following his impressive showing in his NFL debut during Sunday's 40-20 win over the Cardinals. With Nick Chubb (ribs) inactive for the contest and with Woody Marks (ankle) missing the entire second half, Jordan stepped in and carried the ball 15 times for 101 yards to go with two receptions for 17 yards. Jordan should have at least a small role in the game plan in Week 16 against the Raiders if at least one of Chubb and Marks misses the contest, though head coach DeMeco Ryans already suggested Monday that Marks wasn't expected to miss additional time. If both Marks and Chubb are available, Jordan might be inactive for Week 16, since fellow depth backs Dare Ogunbowale and British Brooks are both core special-teams contributors.

Texans' Jawhar Jordan: Back with practice squad
Jawhar Jordan reverted to the Houston Texans' practice squad Monday.Jordan was elevated for Week 15 and made his NFL debut in Sunday's 40-20 win over the Cardinals. Though he wasn't expected to take on a prominent role Sunday, Jordan ended up seeing ample work with Nick Chubb (ribs) inactive for the contest and with Woody Marks missing the entire second half with an ankle injury. Jordan turned 15 carries into 101 yards while reeling in both of his targets for 17 yards in the team's win. He notably played 28 of the team's 67 offensive snaps, seven more than backup Dare Ogunbowale (21). If both Chubb and Marks are sidelined Week 16, Jordan will likely operate as the team's lead option on the ground this coming Sunday against the Raiders.

Texans' Jawhar Jordan: Tops century mark in rushing yards
Jawhar Jordan carried the ball 15 times for 101 yards and caught both his targets for 17 yards in Sunday's 40-20 win over the Cardinals.Nick Chubb (ribs) was inactive, and Woody Marks picked up an ankle injury in the first quarter and didn't return in the second half, which left Jordan to handle the bulk of the work in the backfield to close out the rout. The 2024 sixth-round pick took full advantage of the first action of his NFL career with an outstanding performance. The score was 23-7 at halftime, which may have contributed to the decision to shut down Marks, and it's not clear yet how much time Chubb might need to miss. At the very least, Jordan showed he can be relied upon if needed, which could come as soon as Week 16 against the Raiders.

Jawhar Jordan: Doesn't make roster
Houston waived Jawhar Jordan on Tuesday.Jordan was a sixth-round selection by the Texans in the 2024 NFL Draft. He didn't get into any regular-season games last year, as he spent most of the campaign on Houston's practice squad. Jordan was the Texans' leading rusher during the preseason slate, tallying 88 yards on 24 carries, though that's an average of just 3.7 YPC. He's a logical candidate for the team's practice squad if he clears waivers.

Texans' Jawhar Jordan: Leads backs in preseason finale
Jawhar Jordan had 13 carries for 55 yards in Saturday's 26-7 preseason win over the Lions. All of Jordan's work came during the second half of the preseason finale, which indicates the Houston Texans are unlikely to grant him a spot on the initial 53-man roster. There may be an available spot if Joe Mixon (ankle) opens the regular season on the reserve/non-football injury list, but that opening could go to British Brooks, who brings versatility on special teams and an ability to play fullback.
