Titans' Kaiir Elam: Headed to Tennessee
Kaiir Elam signed with the Tennessee Titans on Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. The 2022 first-round pick from Florida was cut by the Cowboys on Nov. 22 but has already found a new home in Tennessee. Elam appeared in 10 games for the Cowboys before being cut, recording 29 total tackles and one pass defended. However, he struggled in coverage, allowing an 105.0 passer rating when targeted and 14.9 yards per target. Now in Tennessee, Elam will likely operate as one of the team's top boundary corners for the remainder of the season.

Kaiir Elam: Cut by Cowboys
Dallas waived Kaiir Elam on Saturday.Elam was acquired by Dallas in a trade in March and logged every defensive snap for the team over the first three weeks of the season. However, the 2022 first-round draft pick saw his playing time fluctuate thereafter, and Elam didn't log any defensive snaps while playing three snaps on special teams last Sunday against Las Vegas. Joe Hoyt of The Dallas Morning News indicates that Elam's removal from the roster suggests the Cowboys have ample confidence in their current outside corners -- including rookie Shavon Revel and second-year pro Caelen Carson.

Cowboys' Kaiir Elam: Demoted to bench role
Kaiir Elam will not start at outside corner for Sunday's game against the Jets, Clarence Hill Jr. of AllDLLS.com reports. With Elam benched, Trevon Diggs and DaRon Bland will serve as the starting outside corners while Reddy Steward gets promoted to the slot corner position. Elam played every single defensive snap through the first three games of the season but saw his playing time dip in Week 4 against the Packers, and it appears that most of his playing time Sunday will come in rotation in the secondary and on special teams. The 2022 first-rounder has logged 20 tackles (13 solo) through four games this season.

Cowboys' Kaiir Elam: Not extended beyond 2025
Kaiir Elam had his fifth-year option declined by the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.Dallas would have had to pay Elam, a depth corner with the Bills last year, about $12.7 million in 2026 if it had picked up the option, per Fowler. Elam was a first-round pick of the Bills in 2022, but he struggled to secure a starting role before being traded to the Cowboys in March. He'll now try to compete for a role in the last year of his rookie contract.

Bills' Kaiir Elam: Larger role likely
Kaiir Elam is coming off a strong training camp as Buffalo gets ready for its preseason opener against the Bears on Saturday, Maddy Glab of the Buffalo Bills' official site reports. Veteran teammate Dion Dawkins said this week, "I'm happy that '5' is doing what he does now, and he can show us why he's a first-round pick ... when he gets in a game, Kaiir does what he does, and he's in practice and he's showing it. I'm just happy that Kaiir is feeling more like his self."Rasul Douglas and Christian Benford are the two carryover starters from last season at the corner spots, while hybrid player Taron Johnson is probably the best secondary player left on the team, so Elam becoming a starter is far from a certainty. However, the Bills run a defense in which several corners see the field with regularity, and Elam -- the team's 2022 first-round pick who hasn't really panned out yet, partly due to injuries -- looks to be in that mix after making some big strides this offseason.
