Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba: In clear for Week 6

Jaxon Smith-Njigba (ankle) practiced fully Wednesday and doesn't have a designation for Thursday's game in Denver, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports. The Seattle Seahawks listed Smith-Njigba as limited on practice estimates Monday and Tuesday due to an ankle issue, but it didn't hold him back Wednesday, and he thus is in the clear for Week 6 action. He'll be looking to build upon the massive 37-583-7 line on 50 targets that he's amassed through five contests to start the campaign.

Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba: Listed as limited again

Jaxon Smith-Njigba (ankle) was listed as a limited participant on Tuesday's estimated practice report, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports. The Seattle Seahawks did not practice Tuesday for a second straight day, and as was the case Monday, Smith-Njigba was estimated as a limited participant. He will have one more day to clear the injury report before Seattle officially reveals his status for Thursday's game against the Broncos.

Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba: Limited on first Week 6 report

Jaxon Smith-Njigba was estimated as a limited practice participant Monday due to an ankle injury, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.Per Gregg Bell of Sports Radio 93.3 KJR Seattle, Smith-Njigba appeared to get dinged up on a 16-yard lateral run early in the second quarter of Sunday's 32-29 loss to the 49ers. The injury didn't end up costing the star wideout any significant playing time, but it could result in his practice activity being monitored closely in Week 6 while the Seattle Seahawks face a quick turnaround with a Thursday game versus the Broncos. At this stage of the week, the expectation is that Smith-Njigba will be able to play without any restrictions.

Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba: Brilliant again except for late drop

Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught five of eight targets for 102 yards and a touchdown while adding a 16-yard rush in Sunday's 32-29 loss to the 49ers.Smith-Njigba topped 100 receiving yards for the fourth time in five games and scored his seventh touchdown of the season on a 16-yard catch in the third quarter, but his heroics weren't enough as the Seattle Seahawks fell to 3-2. Seattle's four turnovers bear most of the blame for the loss, though JSN had an uncharacteristic drop on the Seahawks' penultimate offensive play, which would have put Seattle in position for a game-tying field goal had he caught it. Smith-Njigba will have a short turnaround before Thursday's home game against the Broncos, in which the star receiver will have a chance to add to his season total of 583 receiving yards.

Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba: Notches 76 receiving yards

Jaxon Smith-Njigba gathered in five of six targets for 76 yards during Sunday's 30-23 win against the Chargers.Smith-Njigba's 27-405-6 line on 36 targets through three games to kick off the campaign perhaps wasn't sustainable, but his Week 4 performance was nothing to sniff at considering he paced the Seattle Seahawks in targets among QB Sam Darnold's 22 pass attempts. Smith-Njigba put up at least as many receiving yards in 15 of his 17 regular-season appearances in 2025 as he did Sunday, so a bounceback seems likely when he next takes the field next Sunday versus the 49ers.

Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba: Another massive performance Sunday

Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught 10 of 14 targets for 128 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 33-31 loss to the Commanders.Having Sam Darnold back under center instead of Drew Lock did nothing to slow Smith-Njigba's momentum. The superstar wideout recorded his third straight game with more than 120 receiving yards while hauling in his fifth and sixth TDs of the season, catching a one-yard toss in the second quarter and an 11-yard strike in the fourth. Smith-Njigba will take an eye-popping 27-405-6 line on 36 targets into a Week 4 clash at home against the Chargers.

Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba: Trio of scores in dominant performance

Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught nine of 11 targets for 155 yards and three touchdowns during Sunday's 31-7 win over the Cardinals.Smith-Njigba started off his day with a bang, connecting with Drew Lock for an 82-yard touchdown on Seattle's opening possession of the game. The wide receiver later added a seven-yard score in the third quarter before notching a third touchdown in the final period, scoring from 12 yards out to cap off his day. Smith-Njigba has now caught 17 of 22 targets for 277 yards and four touchdowns over two contests to open the 2026 campaign, and he'll have a strong chance to continue his hot start Week 3 against Washington's feeble secondary.

Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba: Cranks it up in second half

Jaxon Smith-Njigba brought in eight of 11 targets for 122 yards and a touchdown in the Seattle Seahawks' 13-10 win over the Patriots on Wednesday. The reigning Offensive Player of the Year endured a relatively difficult first half after making a 13-yard catch on the second play from scrimmage, losing starting quarterback Sam Darnold to a hip injury after the first drive of the game and experiencing some trouble separating from Patriots star cornerback Christian Gonzalez. However, JSN picked up the pace significantly as No. 2 signal-caller Drew Lock got into a rhythm, recording key third-down catches on consecutive second-quarter possessions and then delivering a dynamic 45-yard catch-and-run touchdown in the fourth quarter following Drake Maye's first interception. Smith-Njigba also subsequently managed a timely 11-yard grab on the drive that culminated with Jason Myers' go-ahead field goal that served as the final points for either side, and the star receiver ultimately delivered game-high totals in receptions, receiving yards and targets. Any extended absence on Darnold's part would stand to affect Smith-Njigba's week-to-week upside, but the standout receiver's chemistry with Lock as Wednesday's game unfolded was encouraging.

Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba: Not concerned about run game

Jaxon Smith-Njigba said Tuesday in his appearance on ESPN's SportsCenter that rookie running back Jadarian Price had "a great training camp" and will help relieve pressure on the passing game in 2026.After letting Super Bowl LX MVP Kenneth Walker walk in free agency, the Seattle Seahawks will be counting on Price -- the No. 32 overall pick in April's draft -- as well as George Holani and Emanuel Wilson (hamstring) to lead the backfield while Zach Charbonnet (knee) is out for at least the first four games of the season. Walker's tough running combined with Charbonnet's skills on passing downs helped ensure that defenses couldn't devote more resources to shutting down Smith-Njigba, who blossomed into arguably the NFL's top wideout in 2025. After taking most of his snaps out of the slot in his first two seasons, Smith-Njigba thrived while transitioning into more of a perimeter role, compiling a massive 119-1,793-10 receiving line over 17 regular-season games on his way to winning Offensive Player of the Year honors. A league-high 32.6 percent target share played a part in Smith-Njigba achieving his lofty production, but even if supporting pass catchers such as Rashid Shaheed and AJ Barner are more involved in 2026, Smith-Njigba could avoid a major dip in production if the Seahawks lean more heavily on the passing game as a whole. The Seahawks ranked third in the NFL with a 49.7 percent run rate in 2025, and despite Smith-Njigba's early praise for Price, it would still be surprising if the rookie was trusted right away to handle the sort of workloads that Walker and Charbonnet previously shouldered.

Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba: Always willing to be coached up

Jaxon Smith-Njigba is always willing to be coached up in an attempt to be a better player, Anthony Moeglin of Roundtable Sports reports.Smith-Njigba is coming off of a 2025 campaign during which he caught 119 on 162 targets for 1,793 yards and 10 touchdowns over 17 regular-season games, ultimately being named the NFL's Offensive Player of the Year. That hasn't stopped him from challenging himself, though. "He's the only No. 1 wideout I've been around where you can challenge him, and he's not taking it personally... he wants to be coached, he wants to be challenged," said Seattle Seahawks wide receiver coach Frisman Jackson. It's hard to imagine that Smith-Njigba has another level to his game, but with Seattle's former top running back Kenneth Walker leaving for Kansas City in free agency, the team may have to lean on the passing game at times in 2026, potentially leading to even more opportunities for Sam Darnold to connect with his star wide receiver in the passing game.
