Cardinals' Max Melton: In concussion protocol
Head coach Jonathan Gannon told reporters Monday that Max Melton is in concussion protocol, Darren Urban of the Arizona Cardinals' official site reports.The rookie corner made his NFL debut Sunday and recorded two total tackles on 27 total snaps (17 on special teams and 10 defensive), but considering Gannon's comments, it appears Melton sustained a concussion at some point. Melton's practice participation will be something to monitor as the week progresses, and if he's forced to miss time, expect Kei'Trel Clark and Darren Hall to see more work in Arizona's secondary.

Cardinals' Max Melton: Heads to Arizona in second round
The Arizona Cardinals selected Max Melton in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 43rd overall.Brother of Bo Melton, Max Melton plays on the other side of the ball and was a terror in the Rutgers secondary for four years. He leaves Piscataway with eight career interceptions and 30 career pass breakups. Melton possesses sub-4.4 speed (4.39) and has the physicality to play press-man coverage at the next level. He has a chance to start either as a nickel or outside as a rookie.
