Redskins' Cullen Jenkins: Re-signs with Redskins
Cullen Jenkins will re-sign with the Washington Redskins on Tuesday, Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports.Jenkins was released by the Redskins just two weeks ago, but due to Washington's abysmal performance on the defensive line Monday, the team will now rely on him to help turn things around. The 13-year vet has more experience than any current member of the Washington front seven. Last season, Jenkins tallied three sacks and 26 combined tackles in 16 games for the Giants.

Cullen Jenkins was released by the Redskins on Saturday.After working out with the team Monday the Redskins opted to sign the veteran defensive tackle. However, Jenkins was unable to make it through the final roster cuts. He was competing with Jerrell Powe and Matthew Ioannidis for a backup role.

Cullen Jenkins signed a one-year deal with Washington on Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.Jenkins worked out with the team on Monday morning and impressed enough to land a spot on the roster with just two weeks until the season begins. The signing could mean that Jerrell Powe's heart condition may be more serious than originally thought, as he was expected to miss a week after he was diagnosed with heart arrhythmia at the beginning of August. Jenkins recorded 15 tackles and three sacks last season with the Giants.

Report: Giants restructure Cullen Jenkins' contract
The New York Giants and defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins reworked Jenkins' contract to reduce his 2015 salary from $2.2 million to $1 million, reports the New York Daily News. The reported deal would save the Giants $825,000 in salary cap space. In 12 games during the 2014 season, Jenkins totaled 16 tackles and one sack.
