The Pittsburgh Steelers have listed the following players as inactive for Saturday's game against the Ravens: quarterback Landry Jones, wide receiver Lance Moore, cornerback Ike Taylor, running back Le'Veon Bell, defensive end Clifton Geathers, guard Chris Hubbard and tight end Michael Palmer.

Troy Polamalu among notable Steelers probable for playoff game
The following players for the Pittsburgh Steelers have been ruled as probable for Saturday's wild-card clash against Baltimore: Offensive tackle Mike Adams (illness), nose tackle Steve McLendon (shoulder), tight end Heath Miller (not injury related), tight end Michael Palmer (groin), quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (not injury related), cornerback Ike Davis and safety Troy Polamalu (knee). Polamalu has missed the previous two games and four of the last seven due to numerous injuries. His teammates scoffed at the idea that the Steelers are better off without the services of Polamalu, after he was a surprise inactive in Week 17. However, Will Allen could cut into Polamalu's playing time on Saturday, per the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Pittsburgh is a 3-point home favorite against Baltimore.

Steelers list Week 17 inactives vs. Bengals
The Pittsburgh Steelers have listed the following players as inactive for Sunday night's Week 17 showdown with the Bengals: cornerback Ike Taylor (shoulder, forearm), safety Troy Polamalu (knee), tight end Michael Palmer (groin), quarterback Landry Jones, wide receiver Justin Brown, defensive end Clifton Geathers and guard Chris Hubbard. Taylor, Polamalu and Palmer were all listed as questionable to play Sunday but none of the three will be available for the regular-season finale. The three players listed as probable to play in Week 17 are all active, including tackle Kelvin Beachum (back), tight end Matt Spaeth (elbow) and linebacker Vince Williams (ankle). Pittsburgh is a 3 1/2-point favorite at home against Cincinnati.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have listed safety Troy Polamalu (knee), cornerback Ike Taylor (shoulder, forearm) and tight end Michael Palmer (groin) were labeled questionable for Sunday's regular season finale against Cincinnati. Tackle/guard Kelvin Beachum (back), tight end Matt Spaeth (elbow) and linebacker Vince Williams (ankle) were ruled probable.

Steelers TE Michael Palmer's first catch in 2014 is a touchdown
Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Michael Palmer finally recorded his first catch of the season Week 5 at Jacksonville, and he made it count in a 17-9 win. Palmer's lone reception Sunday was a 1-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter, which gave Pittsburgh a 10-3 lead. The touchdown catch was the fourth of Palmer's career and first since 2012 with the Falcons. The Steelers are back in action Week 6 at Cleveland.

Steelers will be down four players in preseason opener
The Pittsburgh Steelers issued a list of four players who will not be in uniform for the team's first preseason game Saturday against the Giants. The following players will sit out the opener: Ryan Shazier, Michael Palmer, Darrius Heyward-Bey and Steve McLendon.

Steelers re-sign Michael Palmer
The Pittsburgh Steelers re-signed tight end Michael Palmer to a one-year deal. He played in every game last year, serving primarily as a blocker and making an 8-yard catch. Pittsburgh claimed Palmer off waivers last August.

Steelers to use 'committee' approach at TE
With starting tight end Heath Miller (knee) sidelined, Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday the team will use a "committee" approach at tight end. The Steelers have five tight ends on the roster -- Miller, Matt Spaeth, David Johnson, David Paulson and Michael Palmer. Though, Spaeth (foot) could join Miller on the sidelines. Tomlin said Tuesday Spaeth is an option to be placed on the injured reserve-designated to return list.
