Giants' Jon Beason: Lands on IR Saturday
Jon Beason (ankle) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, ESPN's Adam Caplan reports.Since joining the New York Giants in 2013, the oft-injured linebacker has played in just 19 games with the team, and he's played in 10+ games just twice in his seven year career. Considering Beason is entering the final year of his contract, the Giants could save nearly $5 million in cap space next year if they cut the 30-year-old linebacker by the beginning of March, so his presence on the roster in 2016 is far from a guarantee.

Giants' Jon Beason: Does not practice Thursday
Jon Beason (ankle) did not practice Thursday.Beason missed last week's contest against the Saints due to an ankle injury and after missing practice in consecutive days, the 30-year-old linebacker could be in danger of missing this week's contest against the Buccaneers as well. Giants' Jon Beason: Officially questionable for Sunday
Jon Beason (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in New Orleans.Beason has spent most of the season sharing snaps with Uani Unga (neck), who is listed as probable after missing Week 7. Giants' Jon Beason: No practice Thursday
Jon Beason (ankle) didn't participate in practice Thursday.Beason received his first substantial workload of the season in Week 7 against the Cowboys due to Uani' Unga's (neck) absence. Earning 82 percent of the defensive snaps (60 of 73), Beason racked up 11 tackles (seven solo), which dwarfed his seven tackles (four solo) in four prior appearances in 2015. With Unga practicing in full Thursday, Beason may be hard-pressed to factor into the IDP conversation for a second consecutive contest, especially if he fails to take part in drills this week.

Giants' Jon Beason: Active Sunday
Jon Beason (knee) is active for Sunday's contest against the Cowboys, the New York Giants' official site reports.Beason has been beset by a sprained knee and concussion this season, resulting in seven tackles scattered across four games. Taking advantage of Beason's lack of health, Uani' Unga so far leads all Giants linebackers with 71 percent of the defensive snaps, which has translated into a team-high 41 tackles.
